Jack from the Art of Fighting series makes a cameo appearance as one of the two guys who beat up a drunk Terry in one of the bars.
The Japanese LD release features the bonus Big Bear vs. Cheng Sinzan match not available in the U.S. VHS release. It is, however, included in the Fatal Fury: Double Impact DVD as an Easter Egg. The scene is not available in English, but subtitles can be activated while viewing.
To activate it, go to the Extra Stuff menu, highlight "Conceptual Drawings." Then, hit the Right button on your remote. The cursor appears in Terry's eye. Hit Select to access the "Joe vs. Big Bear" fight, a scene that was not featured in the U.S. release of Fatal Fury 2.

According to an interview, character designer Masami Obari came up with the idea of casting Hirotaka Suzuoki as the voice of Krauser. He also made the anime version of Krauser much younger than the video game version as he wanted the character to be more of an "evil" Terry than "Uncle Krauser."
The Discotek Media re-release includes the Big Bear vs. Cheng Sinzan scene as part of the main feature. However, since the scene was never originally dubbed into English, the audio track switches to Japanese for that scene, then switches back to English.
