As a former science teacher, I loved the content of this film. It would appeal to those students who might like a little "art" in their science. The history of the development of the Gregorian calendar is not usually a subject that arouses a lot of interest; but the presentation here is enjoyable. The short astronomy lesson shows clearly why we have 12 months in a year and how the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, led us to the 365 day year. The science of Arastosthenes was a clear explanation of how he proved that the earth was spherical. The story of Julius Caesar was humorously animated. All in all, this lesson does a good job of explaining something we take for granted. In one sense the information is useless for most adolescents; but having some understanding of something beyond music videos is a positive thing.
