One of last year's unsung heroes was Disney's A Christmas Carol. A film I loved, which seemed to largely go unnoticed. The critical consensus was pretty evenly split, which never does much for inciting a great deal of word-of-mouth, but I was thoroughly impressed with this particular telling (see my original review below). I suspect there was a certain disinterest in yet another version of the story, which led to the lack of zeal for the film, but it deserves a serious look.
Also available as a 3D release, the film has a nice, if not particularly overloaded, selection of bonuses to help tempt you. The key Blu-Ray extras are a feature length picture-in-picture viewing mode which takes you behind the scenes to learn how the motion capture effort comes together. It's a nice bonus really, though I'm not sure that a great many people will be inclined to watch the entire thing.

Jim Carrey is set to hit the big screen once again in a multitude of roles. The funny man will star as Ebenezer Scrooge among many other roles in the upcoming film adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."
The 3-d film will see Carrey as the cold-hearted and selfish old man, Mr. Scrooge, who despises Christmas and the whole town's people. His complete turnaround comes after he is visited by the three ghosts of Christmas, who show him his past, present and future.
The actor will also appear as the three ghosts and other characters.
Also appearing in a multitude of roles are Gary Oldman, Cary Elwes, and Bob Hoskins. Colin Firth, Robin Wright Penn, and Daryl Sabara are also starring.
