New Delhi, Jan 27: Shah Rukh Khan is apparently in a dilemma, as he is unable to choose between the remake of two Tamil films - Menon's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu and Murugadoss's Ramanna.
Rumour has it, that both the films are looking equally tempting to King Khan, as they would be providing him with the opportunity to essay the kind of characters which he hasn't portrayed as yet in his career.
"While Murugadoss's film casts Srk as a social crusader, Menon's film casts him as a cop, a role he has played just once in Shashilal Nair's One 2 Ka 4. Srk has never got a chance to get into a khaki uniform. This, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu.

Shah Rukh Khan is in a dilemma. He has to choose between the remakes of two Tamil remakes, A R Murogadoss' Ramanna and Gautham Menon's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Both offer the picky superstar Khan a chance to do something he hasn't done before. A South Indian remake with parts that he hasn't tried before. Says a source, "While Murugadoss' film casts Srk as a social crusader, Menon's film casts him as a cop, a role he has played just once in Shashilal Nair's One 2 Ka 4 and that too a plain-clothed cop. Srk has never got a chance to get into khaki uniform. This, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu will let him do." Indeed, Gautham Menon informs that Shah Rukh is the only choice for the Hindi remake of Vettaiyaadi Vilaiyaadi. Contrary to reports, Salman Khan is not up for consideration for the Hindi adaptation of the Gautham Menon's 2006 Tamil hit Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu.

Missing from Bollywood action for nearly ten years, filmmaker Shashilal Nair who last made the rather dubious Ek Chotisi Love Story in 2002 before he left the country is taken aback by recent reports in the press that one of his best-known films Angaar is being bought for remake rights. Now settled in London for nearly a decade, Nair was tracked down from his self imposed hiding to state that he has no plans of selling Angaar or any of his films for a remake. Says Nair, "I happen to be the film's co-producer and I've no knowledge of any such plans of transaction. A software company Endemol was keen to remake Angaar and was chasing my office in Mumbai. But I am not too kicked by the idea of handing over the remake rights to anyone who asks for it." Nair, who is currently studying 5-dimensional filmmaking in London, says...

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be donning the uniform of a policeman for the second time in his career for a Vishal Bhardwaj film, which is likely to be the remake of Hollywood flick ‘The Departed’.
Srk last played the role of a cop in ‘One 2 Ka 4’ along with Jackie Shroff. If this film is the remake of ‘The Departed’, Srk will play the role of Leonardo Di Caprio.
Srk and Vishal Bhardwaj will co-produce the film, and they are yet to get consent and the rights from ‘The Departed’s producers. It is unlikely for the film to go on floors before 2011, as Srk is busy into two films, ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Don.

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has been honoured for his contribution to the film industry in Malaysia - despite opposition from the country's politicians.
Khan received the governor's award - the equivalent to a British knighthood - for promoting the Malacca region in recent film, One 2 Ka 4.
Malacca chief minister Mohamad Ali Rustam says, "This resulted in many people visiting Malacca. The award was given in recognition of this."
But opposition politician Lim Kit Siang has slammed the move, admitting he was "astounded" the governor would choose to honour the Indian actor ahead of home-grown talent.
He says, "Are there no Malaysian film stars, artists or sports people who have greater (talent) to be honoured and encouraged as compared to Shah Rukh?
"I don't think the reason that has been given for making Shah Rukh Khan a Malacca Datuk would impress or convince many that the Bollywood actor-dancer had 'contributed to our tourism industry'."
The 42-year old star is among 78 people to get the award in conjunction with the governor's 70th birthday, alongside the country's navy chief, academics, artists and journalists.
