"Priklyucheniya Sherloka Kholmsa i doktora Vatsona: Smertelnaya skhvatka" tells the story of Sherlock Holmes, who, in this russian adaption, has to face Professor Moriarti in a final battle in Switzerland after upsetting him by taking out one of his main financial sources, a well-known blackmailer. When the two of them meet up at the Reichenbach falls, a battle for life and death begins to unfold.
In my opinion this is the strongest part of this trilogy. The acting is tremeandous and especially for a tv-production, the standard in general is just amazing. The producers understood well to build up the tension up to the last final battle, which can be a bit long but still makes it feel authentic that two men are fighting for survival there. The choice of actors fits the characters well and you really get the feeling that you're absorbed into the middle of a Sherlock Holmes case, chasing down the criminals with them. Furthermore, the movie also has its emotional sides, thus being far more than just a crime movie.
All in all this is a must-see for every fan of the Sherlock Holmes series. The russian can be an obstacle at first but with english subtitles anyone should be able to follow the plot.
