An speleologist, his wife and a friend seem to be the only survivors on earth when they regain surface after an underground exploration. I was a little disappointed by this film, since I hoped to find something similar to those old science fiction from the fifties, not so much based on special effects, but on the philosophical questions related to nuclear destruction, the end of the world, and so on. Instead I found a superficial study of the three surviving characters, not very deep in any case. We never get to know what is the cause that everybody on surface died and the only survivors are these three people who were in a cavern or alike. Anyway, it is not very long, so you won't waist a lot of your time watching it.

A Cahiers du Cinema critic,it's Charles Bitsch's only feature film.Dedicated to Jean-Luc (Godard)it is not the kind of thing I would die for.
France has only produced a handful of sci-fi works.This one is obviously handicapped by a shoestring budget and an amateurish playing -although the male lead ,Jean-Claude Bouillon became famous in the seventies in his native country with the "Brigade du Tigre" miniseries.
The neutron bomb has destroyed all the human beings but three :a man and two women (to be precise four if you include a she-goat not counting ants).There's the rub: if these were spared because they were underground, many more should have been saved too.
The director was probably burning with a desire to get a brand new message across :Man is evil ,he invented war and destruction,so why not trying a new world it is never too late to build ? This time,there will not be Adam and Eve but two Eves (with a baby boy for one of them was pregnant by the male survivor).
