Reality television series have an incredibly hit-or-miss track record when it comes to producing viable music acts, especially bands made up of people who have only ever wanted to be solo artists. The 2010s struck gold with One Direction, Fifth Harmony, and Little Mix — all of which were products of The X Factor, and only one of which actually won their respective season. The 2000s had Making the Band, but Danity Kane’s “Damaged” is really the only good thing to have come out of that. Now, Netflix will take...

Fox’s The Masked Singer Season 10 continues after a stellar premiere. The premiere introduced five new masks — Gazelle, Cow, Rubber Ducky, Diver, and S’more. While we saw Rubber Ducky get unmasked, S’more remains a mystery — though, given the clue package, we think we know who’s singing as the flaming marshmallow. Here’s who we (and fans) think S’more is.
[Spoiler alert: The Masked Singer Season 10 spoilers ahead regarding Diver.]
Who is S’more in ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 10? It’s likely this boy band member
The Masked Singer Season 10 brought S’more out in style with his rendition of “Slow Hand” by Niall Horan. It’s clear the contestant has confidence on stage, as he has the presence of a singer. He even playfully approached the judges with a giant stick of marshmallows that he handed to Nicole Scherzinger. We’re unsure if the marshmallows will help him stay in the competition, but the audience loved it.

Run by CEO Scott Mills, BET Media Group includes BET, BET+, VH1 (which was moved under the group in a restructuring at Paramount last November) and BET’s production arm, BET Studios.
A source close to Combs tells Variety that the global music icon and record executive turned multi-industry entrepreneur is “exploring the opportunity to purchase BET as a part of his strategy to build a Black-owned global media powerhouse.”
Another source familiar with the situation tells Variety, that while Combs has expressed interest in acquiring BET, he is not yet considered to be in talks with Paramount to purchase a majority stake.

MTV is full of popular reality TV shows, including those that featured average people looking for a chance to be on camera. However, not everyone who went on these MTV shows came out looking good. One person alleged that the editors of a show they appeared on portrayed them as “a total jerk.”
MTV found success with numerous reality shows in the 2000s

Although MTV initially focused on music, in the late 1990s, it gradually shifted into a hotbed for reality TV.
The 2000s saw numerous reality shows pop up on MTV. Some chronicled the lives of groups of people, such as The Osbournes, Laguna Beach, The Hills, and Jersey Shore.
Others gave fans small glimpses into the lives and personalities of famous people.

It was about damn time that things shook up in the Outstanding Competition Program category at the Emmys, and this year Lizzo had the juice to make that happen.
Her Amazon Prime Video series “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrls,” where she auditions and mentors dancers that have often been discriminated against at other jobs because of their body type, with the hopes they will join her on stage when she headlines the Bonaroo Music and Arts Festival, is the first show since “Dancing With The Stars” to being nominated in the category for its freshman season.
The artist, who just recently scored another No. 1 hit, told IndieWire that the show receiving that honor, and five more nominations to boot, left her “extremely moved, surprised, and excited. I love going to a carpet. I love award shows….I also was surprised to find out that this was the...

Music mogul and entrepreneur Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will be given a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards 2022.
The award, which honors industry figures who have both significantly shaped culture through their careers and are seen as transformative leaders, will be awarded to the U.S. pop culture icon later this month at the awards show.
“Diddy has always been a pioneering force in our community, breaking barriers, achieving unprecedented heights, blazing new trails, and, in so doing, raising the bar for all of us,” said BET CEO Scott Mills. “His virtuosity is matched only by his range – from music to media, culture, business, and philanthropy – Diddy has exemplified Black excellence.”

Nearly 20 years ago, Making The Band presented a model of the music industry’s dystopian future. The entire concept was in the title — throw a group of random, desperate and wide-eyed musicians from across the nation together, and force them to coalesce into something marketable — until Diddy envisioned something more powerful and everlasting. In quick succession, the world received Da Band, Day26, and Danity Kane. Now Diddy and MTV are reviving the concept in another effort to sell consumers’ childhoods back to them.

Making the Band premiered on MTV in 2002 with Combs at the helm, two years after the original edition that followed the founding of O-Town aired on ABC. The group, which started with five members, was originally called Danity Kane after being formed on Making the Band in 2005. After an incident during a group meeting led to a second Danity Kane breakup, Aubrey and Shannon went on to form Dumblonde while Dawn embarked on a solo career. Yashua dares to defy the dominant sounds of Latin pop with his new single “Pena.” At a time when many artists nod to rap’s dominance by talk-singing, Yashua displays a crooner’s lithe falsetto, lingering over notes with affecting angst. The beat flickering beneath him is neither straightforward reggaeton-pop nor thunderous trap; it’s slyly propulsive, bridging the gap between the Latin mainstream and soft R&B.
In the “Pena” video, Yashua sets himself apart yet again by dancing — not with the goofy charm of say, J Balvin and Nicky Jam in “X,...

[[tmz:video id="0_is9ppq58"]] The real Dylan Dili from Diddy's "Making The Band" finally getting the chance to meet his impersonator, Dave Chappelle, was no accident and it wasn't easy to orchestrate either. Chappelle's sketch mocking Diddy's reality show and Dylan is now considered legendary, and it's pretty surprising the two hadn't met until the real Dylan literally had to make a charge for it at an event he knew Chappelle was going to be appearing at last Friday in Brooklyn.

Some networks wait a lifetime for a moment like this.
ABC has tried for nearly 20 years to launch a hit music competition series. Now, it has finally acquired one: “American Idol,” which ended its run last year on Fox, will relaunch next spring on the network. Details are slim, including new judges and who will host. (“Idol” veteran Ryan Seacrest, now firmly a part of the ABC family as co-host of “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” was not mentioned in the press release.) But the network and producers FremantleMedia North America and Core Media Group made the announcement Tuesday morning.
ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey called “American Idol” a “pop-culture staple that left the air too soon,” while Ben Sherwood, co-chairman, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney/ABC, said the show “is an entertainment icon, and now it will air where it belongs, in ABC’s lineup of addictive fan...

Look, imitating Beyoncé is, generally speaking, a fool’s errand. What the woman accomplishes every night onstage is a feat of discipline, endurance and raw talent that an alarmingly high proportion of the world’s population will never come close to.
But we can all try. And it’s fitting that Beyoncé’s message is more of an aspirational one than a discouraging one: In our hearts, we are all Queen Bey, and we should all try and get as close as we can to that.
These people certainly did.

What happens when Nsync's Joey Fatone, 90-Degrees' Jeff Timmons, O-Town's Erik Michael Estrada and Backstreet Boys' Aj Mclean get together? They reminisce about their boy band past, of course! The teen idols all stopped by "Dancing With the Stars" this week, where they shared some fun facts that '90s music fanatics might not know. The guys fielded questions from fans, including one about how each of their bands got their names. "Our name is the last letters of our first names," Fatone explained. "We used to call Lance 'Lanston.' So, Justin for the 'n,' Chris for the 's,' Joey for the 'y' and so on." "We were shooting the 'Making the Band' show in Orlando. They didn't have a name for it yet -- everyone's nickname for Orlando was 'O-Town,' so they called it 'The O-Town Project,'" Estrada said.

Danity Kane is damaged beyond repair. The once-successful girl group, which was formed by Diddy on "Making the Band," hit a major reunion hiccup last year -- after Dawn Richard allegedly attacked Aubrey O'Day. The band's re-launch was called off, but O'Day and fellow Dk alum Shannon Bex went in a new direction on their own, forming the duo Dumblonde. With the twosome's album killing it on iTunes after an indie launch last week, Bex and O'Day stopped by toofab's studio to chat about their latest venture and the demise of Danity Kane. "We were definitely shocked and we were in bed for a good week and crying and trying to figure out what do we do now?," Bex says of the fallout from the fight between Dawn and Aubrey. "We love to create and we love working together so we thought why not get in the studio," she adds.

The behind-the-scenes drama with the women of Danity Kane was worse than we could have ever imagined. The girl group, which was formed by Diddy on "Making the Band" back in 2005, split a few short years later. They re-grouped last year, but fell apart again after a violent fight between Aubrey O'Day and Dawn Richard. Now, Aubrey is speaking out about the band's volatile past with Dawn. In an interview with The Breakfast Club, O'Day and fellow Dk alum Shannon Bex -- who now perform together as the duo Dumblonde -- revealed the tension spans years. "Y’all wanna know straight up? I can fly it back six years ago to the first time I really figured out what it was," Aubrey said before revealing how she first learned of Richard's "manipulation." She said the women were all in studio with Diddy, who told them each to get on their...

Now this is one sexy comeback! Danity Kane alums Aubrey O'Day and Shannon Bex just dropped their first music video for "White Lightning," their first single together as pop group, dumbblonde. In the black-and-white clip, the duo strike a number of seductive poses while dancing under a backdrop of ominous clouds and lightning. As usual, Aubrey is nearly-naked. The techno track is definitely a huge departure from the ladies' sound when they were in the all girl group. Fans who pre-order the group's upcoming self-titled album -- which is currently #1 on the iTunes Dance Chart -- will receive 5 "instant gratification tracks" before its September release. Aubrey and Shannon first met in 2005 on Diddy's "Making the Band," which led to the formation of Danity Kane with Wanita Woodget, Dawn Richards and Aundrea Fimbres.
