Dated and clichéd story - Trimmel still one of my favorite Kommissars!
thursdaysrecords10 July 2016
The story focuses on German Soccer fanaticism, and the desperation of minor league teams to move up in status. This is very early in the series franchise (1973), and definitely dated. An elaborate plot with many staff members doing their thing to solve the case. Several shady characters are waved around as red herrings. The end result leaves the viewer wondering about the motive, or even the actual string of events. - The "man in charge", Kommissar Trimmel remains one of my favorites, because of the human decency and fairness he brings to his position of authority like none of his colleges in the many other Tatort City spin- offs.
