The model used for the filming of the desert scene was 32 feet wide and 82 feet long. 5,000 miniature trees were made and put on the model. At the time it was the longest continuous sequence filmed with miniatures.
Filming for the space sequence took place on Stage 3 at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank.
The underwater sequence was shown as "dry for wet". This means that smoke filled the set to create the illusion that you are moving underwater.
While filmed on 35 mm film, it was transferred to videodisc for projection from GE Talaria PJ-5055 video projectors.
While moving through the sequence, the individual screen that moves along with each ride vehicle is 6 feet wide and 5 feet high and made of GE Lexan.
