Great behind the scenes look at movie, The Great Locomotive Chase
wmrpeterson4 August 2002
A fascinating look at the making of the movie "The Great Locomotive Chase"(Walt Disney 1956). Fess Parker, in his James J. Andrews spy costume (sans Davy Crockett buckskins) is host to this behind the scenes look at the making of the movie and historical background info to the true life story. Included are interviews with actors Jeffrey Hunter (William A. Fuller),Jeff York (William Campbell),and John Lupton (William Pittenger) who help in supplying background info on their real life counterparts. Also fascinating is the interview with Wilbur G. Kurtz, son-in-law of William Fuller, who actually met six of the raiders in 1906. I have seen this show recently on the Disney Channel. It is a shame Anchor Bay did not include this show in their recent DVD and VHS releases of the movie.
