"Visions in Meditation #1" is as the title already says the beginning to a 4-part series from over 25 years ago. Writer and director here is American filmmaker Stan Brakhage and this is from the latter years of his career, but still far away from his final years. He was extremely prolific at that point. So yeah, the style here is usual Brakhage for the most part and I am generally not really a big fan of his work, so I was not too surprised I did not end up liking this one. Also I cannot say I see any reason why there should be three more films added here. I give this one a thumbs down and have to say it dragged a lot during these (only) 16 minutes it ran. Highly not recommended.
