Good show
I used to watch this show when I was a little girl. When I think about it, I only remember it vaguely, though. If you ask me, it was a good show. Two things I remember very well are the opening sequence and theme song. In addition to that, everyone was ideally cast. Also, the writing was very strong. The performances were top-grade, too. I hope some network brings it back so I can see every episode. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I don't think I've seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.

Great show!
mk72310 March 2003
As a child, this was one of my favorite shows. I liked it because it was different from all of the other shows that were available for kids my age. It had all of the typical lessons about friendship, and family, and honesty, but accomplished them in a much more clever way. The show was about a little girl whose friends were two talking koalas (Pinky and Blinky)from a parallel universe, called Koala-Oala Land, or something to that affect. The most prominent images in my mind of the place were the giant bubbles, one of which encapsulated the girl's long lost father. Of course, she couldn't tell her mother or grandmother about these things. I don't know if there was ever a real series ending...I've thought about this show for years, and still yearn to know what ultimately happens. Shows don't get any better than that.

Childhood remembered - "Noozles"
dee.reid9 April 2013
I was rather shocked to learn a few years ago that "Noozles," which I saw on Nickelodeon growing up in the late 1980s and early 1990s, was originally a Japanese animation (Anime') cartoon series that had been dubbed into English for North American audiences. Beyond that, I unfortunately do not remember a whole lot about this series. But I do remember that I liked it, and with my deep interest in Japanese animation, it would be worth it to be able to watch this show again in its entirely and with adult eyes. With the advent of DVD on the home video market in the last decade, it would be really nice to watch "Noozles" again some time soon, that is, of course, if it got a proper DVD release in the United States, where I live...

Wish it was on DVD

Warning: Spoilers
I wish this was on DVD as well, because I don't think I ever saw the end to the show. Like everyone else, I remember loving this show when I was a little girl. But the furthest I can remember seeing was when Sandy meets her grandfather, who's spirit is trapped inside an orb in the other dimension.

Wikipedia has a good summary of the plot for anyone who wants to refresh their memory. And thank you to the poster who talked about the last episode. I really wish that I could watch it for myself!

This really was a great show. I hope in the future it's released for sale. Or maybe even put back on the air.

series ending spoiler

Warning: Spoilers
There was indeed an ending, and what made this show so great was that the ending wasn't really a happy ending. Sandy was reunited with her father, but the only way he could come back from Koala-Walla Land was if Pinky and Blinky went back which they did. The ending was really sad and had Sandy and her mom making stir-fried shrimp and her mother saying that she had a puppy that died when she was a little girl and although it hurt really badly, she now has forgotten the pain and only has good memories because that's what happens when you truly love something and are loved back. I always remind myself of this when I feel loss in my life. This was my favorite cartoon series ever. Well written and ballsy enough to have a bittersweet ending. I wish they were available on DVD, I would buy the whole set.

A fond memory for anyone who was old enough to remember "Old Nickelodeon"
indigograss2 March 2002
I always had this show somewhere in the back of my mind. I'm 16 now which means that I saw it in reruns while it was on Nickelodeon in the late 80's..when I was 3-5. All I remembered about it were the koalas, the girl with the pink dress, red hair, and yellow flower on her shirt, and a few vague memories of a few of the plots. One thing that stuck out was that weird place with all of those big bubbles...and she could fly there..and her father was in one of the bubbles. I found the show again at yesterdayland.com ...and the memories have been coming back like crazy. This show was great though..I think it was my very first "favorite" show. Unfortunately it no longer airs..if you can get a tape of it I really recommend it. It'll bring great enjoyment to both you and your kids.

Non-stop fun.
DragonMasterHiro3 July 2003
Warning: Spoilers
This show was a lot of fun, and used to air on Nickelodeon sometime around '85, I think? The story was about a girl named Sandy Brown who lived with her mother and grandmother. Her father is a famous archaeologist working in Australia. He sends Sandy a package with a stuffed Koala bear before he goes missing.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS* Sandy loved her new Koala bear and rubbed noses with it. She is in for a shock when it comes to life! Apparently, Dr. Brown sent Blinky to tell her that he was trapped in Koala-Wala Land. Blinky was lazy though, and enjoyed snacking on the Eucalyptis tree right outside Sandy's bedroom window. Sandy had to keep these secrets from her family and friend Mark, who had a crush on her. Blinky also had a sister. Her name was Pinky, a pink koala bear with makeup items that had special powers; the lipstick opened portals and stuff like that. She didn't like Sandy and wanted Blinky to go back to Koala-Wala Land with her. I guess there was no gravity in Koala-Wala Land because everyone could fly.

Fun cartoon, probably my first anime prior to Project A-Ko.

My First Anime

Warning: Spoilers
May have spoilers, although its been so long now I can't remember what is and isn't a spoiler.

When I got in to anime, I always felt it was strangely familiar. Looking back on all the cartoons I considered "good" as a kid, now I see why. I had really been watching it for years.

From what I remember, the plot of this show revolved around a girl whose father was missing. He had gone missing in an expidition to Australia. Later, a ship is found, and in this ship is a package containing a stuffed koala he meant to send to his daughter. His daughter, now 12 and living with her mother (or grandmother, can't remember), gets it. However....

Its not a normal stuffed toy! Its really a REAL koala. A real, talking koala. This talking koala also has a little sister, and they're both from a paralell australia-like demension. The girl's father is trapped there.

The rest of the show consists of her adventures trying to rescue her father from being imprisoned in another dimension, and everything her and the koalas do back home.

Wow, deep plot for a kids show, huh? I'm glad I watched it before I got old enough to realize it was to complicated. Had I watched it when I understood logical thought, the show NEVER would have made sense.

It was great stuff though. Watch it if you can. It is a standard "kid has amazing powers/secrets/friends" thing you often see in anime, but the memories of childhood alone are enough incentive to watch it.
