Happiness? More or less. Sky’s new Fantasy crime thriller stars James Nesbitt as a detective with luck on his side...
You can imagine the commissioning meeting that led to this one: “Whaddya got for me?” says a cigar-chomping exec, “another detective show? Where’s the super-powers? We gotta have super-powers. Get wassisname, the Spider-Man guy, pay him to come up with a new super-power.”
And so Stan Lee’s Lucky Man was born. Possibly.
Aside from his name and a requisite cameo in episode one, it’s hard to tell the extent of Stan Lee’s involvement in Sky’s new fantasy thriller. The IMDb gives him neither a writer nor a story credit on the show, yet press cuttings are calling it Lee’s UK television debut. Perhaps his role was like that of Peter Dinklage’s character in Elf, a trouble-shooter shipped in to provide a killer idea.
