This heartfelt film portrays a young boy struggling to become a young man in the Jewish religion. The relationship between the grandfather and grandson is at the center of the film and progresses through the story. Holocaust survivors are more likely to share their stories with their grandchildren as opposed to their children and this film displays this remarkably. With the aging of Holocaust survivors, it is imperative that their stories be known. The third generation will now be the keepers of their stories so their struggle and triumph will never be forgotten. As a Holocaust survivor, the grandfather passes on his legacy as a survivor to his grandson in this film. The acting of the grandfather is superb and the struggle of the young boy is common. A family film worth seeing!
