Interesting French anticipation tale
searchanddestroy-112 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This TV movie was made from a Jean-Pierre Andrevon's novel, one of the most well known author in this field. I am not an anticipation specialist, but this story remains very inventive, and rather well done, and with convincing performance. I won't repeat the topic, very well explained in the summary line. I also liked, in this feature for TV audiences, the small tributes to the movie history, American and French one. The story line has not much new to offer but, I repeat, I did not find this TV movie corny at all, but I am sure that many among the audiences will say it is. And beware, this is not science fiction, but anticipation, that's not the same although it sometimes may be mixed. And I also warn you that's a dark tale, as many French stories often are. This scheme may be scary too, because no one knows how the future will be like. I thought of an Emmanuel Errer - Jean Mazarin - story, another French anticipation novelist, who brought us very pessimistic tales where the power of the State, of Big Brother, always crushes, destroy the humans. Always. I am sure the climax sequence was shot in Bucarest Rumania, in the former Palace of late dictator Ceauescu.
