It's very rare, but sometimes a scatological comedy will come out that is actually funny "Jackass: The movie" is indeed one of them. I think the reason the movie worked is because it was real. I will admit the stunts themselves are not what make the movie; but the people's reactions. Let's take a look at the train-wreck "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo" This movie was "unfunny and tried to be crude" with incoherent toilet humor that wouldn't even make a retarded 12-year-old chuckle. The peoples expressions were dull and lifeless. Jackass: the movie was real. Some of the looks on these peoples faces were priceless. Consider the look on April Margera's face when her son (Bam) snuck a full grown alligator into his parents kitchen. Or the look on a liqour store manager's face witnessing Johnny Knoxville (concealed under an old man's latex face) blatantly stealing anything his heart desires.
A few stunts were just plain disgusting; like one cast member making a "urine snow-cone" or the morbid sight of Preston Lacy's ass.
