The 'Lorteland' sketch became the most iconic part of the Hov-Hov series. In every episode, Buster Larsen would perform a monologue for his never-to-be-seen wife Magda. Buster Larsen's persona is a frustrated upper middle class everyman, who is often blaming society for not sufficiently supporting his own, rather self interested goals.
Ulf Pilgaard, Buster Larsen, Søren Elung Jensen and Birgit Zinn performed in every episode of the Hov-Hov series. Karl Stegger only missed a couple of early episodes, while Kirsten Walther joined from season two and onward. A wide range of actors were tested during the premier season but did not continue in more seasons - among them were Lene Tiemroth, Clara Pontoppidan, Hans W. Petersen, Per Pallesen and Erik Wedersøe.
