Great fun, but a bit disjointed
smetin11 May 2017
OK, so I am 25 years old and have decided to watch a number of TV shows from my youth. I found my old Beyblades and was inspired to watch the original series from beginning to end. I was concerned that the goggles of nostalgia would lead me to being disappointed watching it now. However, I was wrong and truly enjoyed watching this original series.

The concept of Beyblades is quite simple. Spinning tops fighting in a stadium for sport. Along with that there are strong overriding themes of family, friendship and teamwork. It is cheesy at times but still enjoyable. Interweaved with this are the negative themes of deceit, cheating and betrayal. It works well in the context of the series, although it was sometimes slightly too predictable as to the outcome.

In series 1, Beyblades are suggested to be the main players in a Beyblade battle. Makes sense, right? The bitbeasts were suggested to contribute special attacks and were connected to their player. Not all Beybladers had a bitbeast, so it would make sense that Beyblades themselves were the workhorses that drove a battle. However, in series 2 the concept shifted quite dramatically. In this case, a Beyblade battle was actually just a battle between bitbeasts and the Beyblades merely mirrored what was going on as the bitbeasts waged war on each other. This made slightly less sense since not all players had bitbeasts. It was also very different to how we were made to understand Beyblades in series 1. Series 3 brought a middle ground, which I believe worked best. Gone was the major focus of bitbeast battles and a new concept of Beybladers having a special link with their Beyblade. The Beyblade could be considered "possessed" by their bitbeast and the main focus of battle was now blade- on-blade, rather than beast-on-beast hologram battles.

The animation quality in series 1 was representative of the time, being quite unrefined and slightly messy at times. The Beyblades in battle lacked detail. This all changed in series 2 and 3, where the animation quality was a lot crisper and the Beyblades looked as they did if you bought them in stores. The issue I had was in series 2 where the main characters went from looking like teenagers to more like pre-teens. This was rectified in series 3 and they looked their age and had the superior animation quality.

Finally I just want to touch on the stories themselves. Series 1 was quite simple since it wanted to set the premise of Beyblades. It revolved around various championship battles and the final arc brought an interesting twist. Series 2 was quite different and I think they tried to hard to make a story. It felt quite disjointed and the actual reasoning behind the ancient origins of bitbeasts was poorly explained in my opinion. It presented a great opportunity to do what they did in the final series of Yu-Gi-Oh! to explain where the monsters came from. Series 3 went back to much of what series 1 brought and I honestly thought it was the strongest series of the three.

All in all, I recommend you watch the original series of Beyblades. If I were to rank them, I would make it 3 > 1 > 2. If you had to miss a series, I would say series 2 could be missed. However, none of them were really 'bad', it is just that some were slightly confused and poorly conceived. What I can say is that nostalgia did not blind me, Beyblades are still great fun!

A reasonable Show
chrisrulz55511 July 2006
I love English dubbed anime. I know a lot of people say its bad and the Japanese version is far superior but its good how they change the show to suit our culture, making it easier for children (their main audience) to understand. The other review says its repetitive but what sport isn't? This was as big as Pokemon and Dragon ball Z at my school, everyone loved it. People say it was only to sell toys, well it did that and it did it good. What kid doesn't want to be a part of something that can save the world like in a TV show. The people who say it isn't very good are usually older people who come across the show while channel surfing, the show isn't aimed at you so its not fair to hate it.

Didn't Like it at first but then I changed my mind
SonicStuart2 June 2005
At first when one of my friends told me that this series wasn't good I took his word for it until I watched the show and gave it a chance and I like it. I only watch the cartoon series, Beyblade, I don't collect any of the toys or something like that. The show is about a team of beybladers called the Bladebreakers, which is lead my Tyson (who is the main character). The other characters on the Bladebreakers are Daichi (didn't come until Season 3), Max, Ray and Kai and there is Kenny who is the teams expert on fixing beyblades, beyblade stats and other things related to the sport. The Bladebreakers team travels around to battle other teams and pretty much save the world. The cool part about the beyblade is the bit-beasts! My favorite bit-beasts are Dragoon, Dranzer, Driger and Draciel! My favorite characters are Tyson, Kai, Max and Ray. This show premiered on ABC Family back in July 2002 and each season to this show has a different title; Season 1 was called Beyblade, Season 2 was called Beyblade: V-Force and Season 3 was called Beyblade: G-Revolution! This show has cool battles, cool music during the battles and I like the fact that when the beyblades are in play and spinning they are computer animated which I found cool! You might like this series if you like Digimon, Medabots and some other good anime shows. LET IT RIP!

Nice anime
blue_buttons20 October 2003
This show's about a team called the Bladebreakers and how they go round the world, fighting in tournaments. It brings out the importance of team spirit. Pretty much a kiddy and anime-crazed-teens show.

I don't watch anime, except for this, that is. This show doesn't suck, honestly, don't just go watch a few episodes and decide how 'good' it is.

It has a good english voice over team, and the characters got their own distinct personalities. You can tell the different traits between everyone, that is how I find Kai, the introvert so interesting.

There may be some boring episodes, but other than that, I like it. I watch it for Kai!

Take it for what it is.
Joethehoe20102 November 2010
In my Opinion, I think some people are being too Harsh to the series. Of course It's going to be a bit dumb and very Childish so you have to review it for what it is. Its aimed at children, Not older audiences.

People criticize this show a bit too much, I think it's done very well (For what it is). It has some decent Characters and The animation is prighty decent. One good point about this series is how every team is completely different,It doesn't feel like you've seen the same Team. The show is basically a Tournament after Tournament Which I enjoy. What I find Hysterical is how they have commentators for the Bay Battles. People Complain about Yu-GI-oh taking the card game seriously, bey blade have commentators!

That said, I think it's an Enjoyable show. Of course be prepared, It can be childish but I think It's a good series.

Great show, even if it has some occasional missteps
dracophileupdate10 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The premise of this show is probably the dumbest thing possible. It's about kids playing with spinning tops. The execution is surprisingly good. It creates interesting characters, compelling plots, and always delivers in the action.

Characters: This show has many characters, but all of them feel unique. Even "filler" characters like the Majestics each have their own personalities and fighting styles. Personally, I like Tyson's grandfather (big props to the voice actor. It must be hard playing a elderly man who speaks in outdated surfer slang) and the battle commentators AJ Topper and Brad Best (they really make Beyblade feel like a real sport)

Plot: Every season has a different plot, but all of them involve our protagonist Tyson and his team trying to win the world championship. In the first season, we see the Bladebreakers being formed and go up against the White Tigers, the All Stars, and the Demolition Boys. Of course, these are just the main teams. There are a total of 12 teams we see at the world championship. Not counting the Majestics and Dark Bladers who didn't compete but had matches against the Bladebreakers in other events. Season 2 sees the Bladebreakers trying to protect their bit-beasts (spirits that live within the Beyblade) from the likes of Team Psykick, the Saint Shields, and Dr. Zagart. The villains this season range from mad scientists to sentient robots to members of a clan dedicated to sealing away all bit-beasts to prevent them from being used for evil. Season 3 is about the Bladebreakers splitting apart as each member leads their own team in the world championship. Later when we get the BEGA arc, we have a conflict between BEGA trying to commercialize the sport and the BBA, trying to keep it open to everyone.

Action: The battles are between spinning tops. But they are still action-packed. The inclusion of bit-beasts (spirits that live in the Beyblades) also make battles more intense. Each character has a unique fighting style, so battles don't feel repetitive. The stadiums they battle in also vary, from a standard bowl-shape arena, to a stadium modeled after the Great Wall of China, to a low-gravity stadium provided by NASA (yeah you read that right. NASA made a Beyblade stadium. Also, the Pentagon sponsors the American team) The special moves used give each Beyblade a sense of uniqueness. Phantom Hurricane creates a tornado. Flame Saber sea the Beyblade on fire. Novae Rog creates a pocket dimension. Even minor characters have special moves like creating illusions that their blade has multiplied to a divebomb attack.

Music: amazing. The Japanese openings are called Fighting Spirits, Off the Chains, Jet, Go Ahead, and Identified. The dub opted for songs that would play during battles. The Beyblade wiki has a complete list. If you want to check those out, search for Always be in the Game, Switchblade, Underdog, or I'm not Going Down.

Overall: great series. It can be a little over the top (pun intended) such as when the president of the United States (modeled after George W. Bush) battled in a stadium that was a replica of the White House. Or the aforementioned NASA providing a stadium. But that is what makes it fun.

Its fantasy and science!
rafidshadman-716814 September 2020
I will make this short. People are telling that beyblade is illogical, I don't get it? Its fantasy anything can happen. Not only beyblade but also every anime has its own world, own theory and own story. I won't give any spoilers but I think japanese dub with eng sub is the best option if you want to get the full credit. English dub don't have some amazing scenes from the anime. You will enjoy the english dub but english sub will be the best to watch.

Every character is great. Every character's personality is very realistics. It shows the pressure of a champion plus the ups and downs of him, which I really enjoyed. It has an emotional and complete ending. I watched this entire original saga in a month and the last episode cost few drops of my tears.

In the end I want to say, LET IT RIP!

Clevar but lost it's touch later on
Saku_Tatsuya7 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the first season with all my heart; and its that season which made me leave a special place in my heart for Beyblade.

First season: The characters were interesting and likable. There was an actual plot line and let's face it: the plot was unique. I enjoyed how Tyson (Takao), Kai, Ray, Max and Kenny (Professor) all had different quirks; it made them likable. Tyson's eating habit was good comic relief and saved his character, Ray's random remarks always made my day, Max's friendliness made him believable, Kenny's super genius ways were always a nice touch and Kai's sarcasm also made my day. I used to love the characters to death. Seriously. 9/10

VForce: What the hell happened here; how did a series that was once good become bad so quickly? Why the hell did they change the animation style suddenly (and why take away Ray and Kai's muscles? They looked hot)? My biggest beef with this season mainly lies with one specific character: Hilary/Hiromi. What were they thinking?! If the dudes at the studio thought "Yu-Gi-Oh has a cheerleader, why can't Beyblade have one?" then someone please smack them for me. What is Hilary's purpose anyway other then to bitch out at the characters at every chance she gets and to be the cheerleader?

I know its stupid to hate a season because of mostly one character but Hiliary's character really ruined it for me. If I were to ask the BladeBreakers any question in the world, I'd ask "How the hell do you put up with Hiliary?" Seriously, how do they honestly put up with her; especially Kai. Seriously, I was just hoping for a moment when Kai slaps some sense into that bitch.

Why didn't the BladeBreakers just ditch her already if they were getting sick of her? 1/10

GRevolution: I'll admit, it's a little better than VForce. However, this season bored the living hell out of me. I was basically watching season 1 again with different animation and slower story movement. 3/10 because it's slightly better then VForce

6.9 ? The show deserves at least 7.5
elhamfirmino20 October 2022
All low ratings come from grown adults. I'm 29 years old. I watched the show when it came out and I did watch the series 6-7 years ago and again this year. It's pure nostalgia. Of course I recognized things which I haven't when I was a kid. Some cheesy lines and acts, but the shows main target is kids. Besides that it deserves huge credits for well written characters with unique habits and stories. It's thrilling and exciting. I think I tried the later series after this OG Beyblade but couldn't stand its western dub it was terrible bad. I highly recommend you to watch this shows our let your kids watch it. They'll learn what it means to take responsibility, friendship, trust, never giving up in life and more life important values.

They didn't just do that to sell toys. Pokémon for example still sells and the anime has become beyond average.

So don't listen to the 1 star or 2 star or whatever clueless rating. Just let it rip !!

Pretty bad, to be honest.
general-melchett12 December 2006
I used to enjoy this show - but I have gone off it for easily 2 years ago, and in fact went off Beyblades entirely because of this. The characters are pretty flat and dull, the animation rather sketchy (though I'm sure this was intended), it is very predictable and pretty sad, and is really just childish. Kai is a real show-off d***head - why do Tyson and co. let him be part of their gang when all he tries to do is betray them? The animation does kind of get better in a later series (which tries to be shocking and gripping but falls flat on its face), but this is definitely one best left sitting on the shelves and playing to no viewers at 1 a.m on a lesser-known channel in the morning. The first volume DVD offers a whiff of a bonus feature (in the form of an interactive game), but none of the others do, and to be quite frank, I'm not sure who would want to spend their £15 on four rather sub-par episodes. It is a bit underrated (though the arithmetic mean for it is way higher), but people these days are always cruel and cynical about cartoons for kids, and this one is definitely one at risk from critics. I can clearly see why. 2/10

Basic plot, my opinion
quatre_00113 December 2003
I've only seen the dub version of Beyblade, and I rather like it. The premise is original, the characters are well-developed, and it's not completely PWP-ish. PWP means "Plot? What Plot?"

The basic story for the first season is the Bladebreakers (Tyson, Max, Ray, Kai, and Kenny) are trying to win the Beyblade world championships. While it may seem simple, it truly isn't. In Asia, the 'breakers meet some of Ray's old acquaintances and Ray must convince them that he didn't abandon his home. In America, Max finds that his mother is sponsoring another team and tensions arise from that. And in Europe, the 'breakers are stranded and have to make their way to Russia all alone, and they meet the Dark Bladers along the way. The Dark Bladers seek to steal the 'breakers' bit beasts (animal spirits trapped within the Beyblade). And in Russia, with the Dark Bladers still after them, the 'breakers learn that Kai's grandfather is seeking to take over the world by stealing other bladers' bit beasts! Ray ends up in the hospital, and Kai turns traitor for a while! The Russian Tournament turns into more than just a game!

The second season, V-Force, begins with the 'breakers having split up. Kai is going to boarding school, Max is in America, and Ray went home to China. Then mystery bladers show up, and then it seems that everyone wants the 'breakers' bit beasts! The only tournament so far wasn't a real tournament, but an evil organization pitting the 'breakers against a team of its own. This season, the animation style is different, making the 'breakers look younger than in the first season.

I haven't seen the original Japanese version, but I suspect that it's better than the dub, seeing as the producers may have cut out "inappropriate" scenes and/or ideas.

I really like Beyblade and would recommend it to others as a good anime. It's as good as Gundam Wing or Rurouni Kenshin, in its own way.

My favorite character: Kai

My least favorite character: Hilary, because I don't know what her purpose in the series is.

Awesome!!!!!
deepthinker56621 November 2008
If you were thinking about an anime so awesome, then this is for you, Beyblade. An animated tale about four boys named Tyson, Max, Ray and Kai, and one of them named Tyson (in the English anime) proving to be the best beyblader around. I've got the toys, DVDs, video games, and episodes on YouTube. The whole review I'm doing is based on the American Beyblade, not the Japanese one. I've never seen the Japanese version, but its a great show.

Beyblade has three seasons and That was the first season of Beyblade, Now let's move on to Season 2 which is "Beyblade V-Force", where the series got a little different, Characters clothing changed, their eyes look different, the tops are in a three-dimensional upgrade, A different story, added some new characters to the series (Team Psykick- Jim, Goki, Kane, Salima. and Team Saint Shields- Dunga, Joseph, Mariam, and Ozuma) Overall, V-Force is amazing. 10/10

Beyblade G-Revolution is the final season of the series. Season 3 features the same CGI tops, but with some improvement and the same characters and the new characters like (Raul, Julia, Brooklyn, Daichi, Mathilda, etc) and a different story. Overall, G-Revolution is awesome. 10/10.

I've have the video games of Beyblade on the PS, and GC.

Beyblade (PS)

Comment: "It's pretty fun", Bottom line: enjoyable, The reason I did that because I cannot enter GameSpot or IGN login.

Beyblade for the Playstation is little difficult to control the beyblade, but you can get a good hit on them. Game features all the characters from the Bladebreakers and some characters are in solo are (Micheal, Robert, Lee, Tala) Beyblade (PS): 7.2/10

Beyblade V-Force Super Tournament Battle (GC)

Comment: "If you like Beyblade, then this is the game for you!" Bottom line: Awesome. (in my opinion)

Beyblade for the Nintendo Gamecube is the best Beyblade game you can find anywhere in the USA, The game play is just awesome. It's the improvement to the Playstation game, but with new graphics and cut scenes, and it's fully customizable, I have the game so, I recommend to buying this game, it is Awesome! I've read some of the reviews online for this game, and I was very disappointed. IGN gave this game a 2.5/10, maybe for its game play, but the game play for me, it was great. And no, it is NOT a boring piece of crap game. A lot of people on GameSpot.com thinks this game is really bad, Well...it's not!!!!!! Not boring at all!!! Beyblade V-Force Super Tournament Battle: 10/10

So anyway, Beyblade is another amazing anime with some new twists.

Beyblade is the greatest show ever made. Not some Spongebob crap here!!

All that non stop action, fun, and excitement that you can enjoy.

Both V-Force and G-Revolution are pretty awesome expansions to the series.

I am a beyblade fan so, I like this show, the video games, and toys and everything. Good stuff. Way better than Spongebob Squarepants.

I recommend to watch this show, you'll be happy.

BEYBLADE: 10 stars

Depending on how you look at it
gemgemchan22 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The anime is aimed at children but that is not to say that has stopped older generations from watching the show.

The anime is based on 4 individuals who come together more and more as a team as they go around the world competing in the World beyblade championships. The idea of the sport or game is to use "spinning tops"- customise them- and win against their opponent. In some cases bit beasts can be used if the blader has one.

The actually idea of using spinning tops to fight against someone else is a bit.... but then again this anime is aimed at kids in the first place, and spinning tops sounds quite straight forward. Of course in the show the anime makes the battles seem intense etc but its anime of course it will but the actually spinning tops that was released do not make it feel the same and this is where a lot of older generation anime fans look down on the anime. So yeah the idea of spinning tops going against one enough isn't a greatest of ideas but it still worked didn't it? And the creator has got to get some credit of that!

The storyline is much better in my opinion. Throughout the anime you get to learn about each of the team members, where they come from, why they act the way they are, past storyline. And through each storyline you get to see the way their team is formed and how they become friends over time as well as help each other out with their own difficulties. And for me that was the most interesting thing about this anime.

Each character is very well thought of and the back stories for each character (though the dub version slightly differs from the Japanese one) is interesting and makes you want to learn more.

The anime is told with a mix of seriousness and comic relief (mainly from the main character). Though the anime is not dumb-down. It should be noted that there were many scenes deleted or edited from the dub version of the show since Nelvana thought it was inappropriate to have in an anime aimed at kids (unlike the Japanese version).

Overall I consider it a great anime to watch though it really does depend on what you are interested in. I was more interested in the relationships within the show but the idea of spinning tops I didn't really get. While others might be interested in the customising beyblades and the battles of the show rather than the main characters. There will be others who dislike the show and consider it dumb and pointless, while other fans will enjoy everything about it.

Beyblades first season was OK
jason-195011 August 2008
OK First of all it should be made clear that Beyblade has a lot of cheesy moments and annoying lines but it should be remembered that it is aimed more at kids than adults so its understandable.

Anyhow, there are some good sides to the show, now keep in mind I am referring to the first season, nothing else. The soundtrack was actually pretty good and the storyline was basic but watchable, there were some good characters as well and it had its great moments, I think the Asian tournament was probably the best saga in the first Season.

Anyhow, this show is probably OK for kids but it can be hard to watch if your older.

VForce and G Revolution sucked so lets not even bother with that.

I give it 5/10 it was OK to be honest.

Good series but has some flaws
hmm_15 September 2002
"Beyblade" is about a kid named Tyson and his friends who go/travel around battling others with their beyblades (a metallic top-like thing). That's what this series is mostly about and that's it's flaw, that and the fact that there was never exactly a clear explanation of what a "bit beast" was/came from etc. However if you look past those, it's a good series with excellent animation and original music. They should focus on more than just beyblade battling and practicing though.

Also, I see all of these toys being sold related to this series. I hope this is not just a big advertisement to sell toys (no big surprise if so, wasn't the first time _that's_ happened!).

I wonder how long they can keep this going...

Similar to Pokemon, but fun
elonmusk-is_a_moron9 July 2022
This show is very silly and it was clearly inspired by the Pokemon craze, but...I still watched it. And I enjoyed it.

It was fun to watch. Silly (Super silly, actually) but still entertaining. And the songs were catchy.

It actually started a spinning top craze in my country.

Can I be honest? I really don't like this show
TheLittleSongbird27 June 2010
Sorry, I really don't like Beyblade. Maybe it is because it doesn't appeal to me, and maybe it is because I am at an age where I don't appreciate it. I will admit I don't like Pokemon either(I am prepared for people to come at my door with sticks, fire and stones), but Beyblade is definitely for me the worst of the two shows.

The animation is not good really. Now I love anime, some of my favourite movies are animes, but instead of the mystical and enchanting images I am used to, the animation was flat and lacking in detail. I also hate the music, it is repetitive and annoying and I am not fond of the style. That's not the worst part though. The writing is awful, clichéd, stale and lame and the story lines are incredibly repetitive and predictable. The characters are annoying in alternative to endearing and unique and the voice acting is not dynamic enough.

So overall, I don't like it, sorry. 1/10 Bethany Cox

This show is ultimately responsible for why I hate competition Anime
arorashadow_200327 July 2005
There are so many competition based Anime, Pokemon, B-Daman (which is a rip-off of this show) and some basketball one. But what's bad about fantasy competition style Anime, is EVERYBODY Cheats, and gets away with it. And Beyblade, is NO different. I watched this story full and through, and I hate it now. Again b/c of how much people cheat. How is it legal to steal a bit-beast, or bust your opponents blade to pieces? Is there no rules in this society? And of course the predictable character map. The Cocky one, the loner, the brain, the one who is unsure of himself, and yet somehow all of these people manage to be a team. So I don't see what's good about this show. The story is not much to look at either. Every season it's predictable, and boring. And the Animation went from good, to bad. I thought people grew UP not DOWN. Chibi Animation is hardly worth any main attention, and I don't know why so many use it as a regular art form. This is one show, you should stay away from, b/c it's pretty pathetic.

I haven't seen the movie but i have seen a few shows from the series. The plot is pretty childish and the animation is ok but in a way, its a show about friendship and trust. Some of the characters are sappy *cough* Tyson *cough* but I do have a strange liking to odd characters. My personal favourite character is Kai for being a bit different (okay very different) from the others and I like his sarcasm. Anyways I hope that the movie is good and I hope they continue the series!

Let it rip!

A pretty baddass show for kids between 4-11, yet a dull show for anyone over.
BoydudeReviews28 April 2018
Ok. So let me begin that I never got into the original Beyblade show when I was a kid. I knew what it was but never got into it. However, when I was so obsessed with the Beyblade Metal series when I was 13, I decided to get into this to see what it was all about. I think it was during 2011 when I first watched this show. I remember finishing season1 of Beyblade Metal Fusion and watching season 2, Beyblade Metal Masters in japanese, but then I got upto date with the show nnear it's season finale and i was bored waiting for the last 8 episode of the season to air once a week. So, I decided to watch this show. And I must say, at the time, I was really impressed. I enjoyed this show just as much as the metal series. I found the beys cooler, the charatcers a bit more likeble and the music soundtrack really baddass. However, after reawatching at the age of 16, my opinian of the show drastically changed. I found the show as a whole, pretty dull, predicitable, and very frustrating, I guess cause I grew up and compare to the metal series, it was pretty crappy. Here's why.

Season 1, titled Beyblade is about a group of kids who travel the world in a team to win the world champianships. I HATED the design of this show the first time round and the rewatch round even more. But I grew to accept it. The Beyb;ade spinning themsels were so AWFUL and badly animated that it felt like I was watching a animate for a upcoming show. The plot itself was ok, I guess, especially near the end when there are secrets reveled about certain characters. I found that the best part of the show. But I did like them just travelling around the world, experiancing the coultures and all that. So Season 1 is a 5/10 for me .

Season 2, on the other hand is where things get really REALLY BAD. I mean, good lord this season is bad. I will commend the creators for improving the visual design of the characters and the beyblade spinning and batteling. much more better, but the new design made them a bit too young. But, my gosh I couldn't stand this season. The plot, well. There isn't one at all. Not until the last 13 episode of this season. it's just tyson and his freinds chilling out at school, battelng the SAME PEOPLE EVERY EPISODEE. EVERY FREAKING EPISODE. It gets boring fast. There is a bit more info on bit beats, but that kinds bored me. There is no champianships at all until the last 13 episode where there is a national champainnship. Tyson and the gang meet new people through this season, but there is one character they meet and towards the end, we find out some UNEXPECTED about him, it will throw you off guard completely. I mean, WOW, I didn't see that coming. But apart for the last 13 episdodes of this show, it isn't that good. 2/10

Season 3 is the third and final season of the original series and is defieantly the best out of the three of them. The visual design has improved much more and the characters llook uch better, as they are older. I really liked this season. It did nfeel like season 1, as they travel the world again, but this time, there are changes in the group. I won't spoil it for you, but it does get a bit intense at times. From ep 1 to like ep 26, the show is pretty amazing. I loved it. But then the send half of the show starts to go off the rails a bit. It isn't nearly as bad as season 2, but it does start tho change. I liked it and didn't like it at the same time. I felt that there could have been more explaining, but oh well, it's a kids show. The finale was VERYYY, VERY anticlimatic and they changed it from the japanese to make it childfrindly, which was a bad move. But a uch better season.

Overall, this show is for kids and maybe pre teens. I didn't really like it, but they might.

I think i was more into the toys than the tv show. I don't recall much from this show but it had some cool effects.
