Could Simon Cowell not take a day out of his hectic schedule to (lightly) bang Louis Walsh and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's heads together?
The bickering pair, who should know better, just cannot let bygones be bygones as they publicly entered their latest war of words.
Walsh seems to be at his most content when he's shooting his mouth off about the star, recently igniting their age-old feud by describing her as "lazy" and irrelevant" during his latest interview.
Cheryl took the bait and claimed Walsh - who previously dressed up as the popstar for a laugh - must have "some kind of an obsession" with her, and advised him to use his mouth to "say something positive". Which seems unlikely...
Even Simon Cowell has commented on their spat and likened the pair to Tom and Jerry.

Cheryl Cole's path to fame wasn't exactly ordinary. After winning a spot in the girl band, Girls Aloud, on the reality television series "Popstars: The Rivals," the anglophile went on to become an international icon. Though the UK's biggest-selling girl group of the 21st century recently broke up, Cole seems to be doing fine with a very successful solo career.
We could spend all day talking about Cole's musical talents, but what we really want to discuss is her ever-changing style. It seems like the English really do do it better. Cole first stormed onto the scene wearing typical early aughts ensembles (think tracksuits and plastic earrings), but she has since come into her own. Now a red carpet favorite, Cheryl sports head-to-toe lace dresses and daring cut-outs.
In celebration of her 30th birthday on Sunday (June 30), we are taking a look back at Cole's most memorable looks to date.

Next week, Girls Aloud celebrate their tenth anniversary with their aptly-titled greatest hits album Ten. The majority of their (soon to be) 21 top ten singles (and the other one that didn't quite make it) are great pop moments in themselves, but the brilliance of Girls Aloud extends far beyond their music. We've revisited ten of the best moments in the group's decade together, starting from the very beginning, below: 1. The forming of the band on Popstars: The Rivals
Where it all began. Who'd have thought Pete Waterman, Geri Halliwell and Louis Walsh could be responsible for such a band? Of course, it was up to the public to knock one girl out to make the final group, but few would have suggested it would be between Sarah or Javine. Pete Waterman has commented that if Cheryl Cole ever wants to stand a chance of achieving happiness, she needs to give up on her TV and music career and concentrate on her personal life.
The 64 year old record producer – who was the original Mr Nasty when he first discovered Cole on Popstars: The Rivals – told The Sunday Mirror that he thinks Cheryl needs to get over her recent X Factor sacking and settle down with her ex-husband Ashley.
He explained:
“I think Cheryl should now and go and have babies with Ashley. They’ve got back together so they obviously like each other.”

Even though British pop star Cheryl Cole had been rumored as a judge on the U.S. version of The X Factor for weeks, now that she’s been officially hired, the overwhelming response to today’s news is still likely to be: “Cheryl who?” For the uninformed, she’s a past reality-show contestant herself (she’s part of Girls Aloud, an all-female quintet formed in 2002 on the British show Popstars: The Rivals) who became a solo sensation in 2009 with the release of her single “Fight For This Love,” which is still in heavy rotation on my iPod two years after it came out.

Unreality TV readers have been voting in their thousands for their favourite guest judge from this year’s X Factor.
The results have been counted and verified (we’ve always wanted to say that), and it’s official: Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger is the nation’s favourite guest judge.
Scherzinger scored 4,454 votes (54% of the total), giving her more votes than all the other guests combined. Falling into a not-even-close second place, her prominently chested fellow American singer Katy Perry took 2,406 votes or 29% of the total.
Disappointingly, singers Pixie Lott and Natalie Imbruglia scored less than 10% each, with former Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell coming in last. What’s the real sting in the tail here is that Halliwell was actually a judge on the predecessor of X Factor, Popstars: The Rivals, back in 2002. Ouch.
It’s interesting that Katy Perry was leading the poll until Nicole appeared on several episodes.

Cheryl Cole was a "terrible" pupil at school. The pop star was a feisty teenager and her temper got her into trouble with several teachers. Cheryl, who attended Walker Comprehensive School near her Newcastle home, said, "I was awful. They used to throw me out of class."
The "Fight for This Love" singer, whose second solo album "Messy Little Raindrops" is out in October, also revealed she was initially put off a career in showbiz because she didn't think she was posh enough. Cheryl didn't feel as though she fitted in after she attended auditions for the Royal Ballet School's two-week summer course when she was nine years old.
The 27-year-old star, who was only able to attend the dance course after a local newspaper raised the 300 pounds sterling she needed to get to the London auditions, said, "I wanted to go home straight away. Everyone was prim and proper...

The singer told RTÉ's Ryan Tubridy that she does watch the reality show but finds the early stages uncomfortable to watch. "I do [watch it], any time I'm over," she said. "My problem is that I like it when it gets to the live stages. You know, when the singers are on singing and got past the stage where they're embarrassing everybody." Girls Aloud have too much "baggage", their former manager has claimed. Louis Walsh, who took on the quintet after they won U.K. TV talent show "Popstars: The Rivals" in 2002, admits he has great admiration for Nadine Coyle and thinks that affected his relationship with her band mates Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding.
"I don't like working with them too much any more because there's too much baggage and far too much politics," he said. "I always thought that Nadine was the star, that she was the real singer in the band, and the others held that against me."
However, the 58-year-old music manager does admit Cheryl, who he sits alongside as a judge on U.K. TV talent show "The X Factor" has managed a spectacular career turn around, but credits it on her relationship with her soccer star ex-husband Ashley Cole.
He told Glamour magazine,...

X Factor judge Louis Walsh has admitted that he never wanted to be on TV.
The Irish star told Rte that he never planned to become a celebrity and preferred to work with bands behind the scenes. However, when he was asked to act as a judge on ITV’s Popstars:The Rivals, he felt it was an opportunity too good to pass up.
Louis said:
“I never wanted to be on TV. I never, ever, ever thought I’d be on TV. I never planned it. I never wanted it.”
He explained: “I got this phone call about eight years ago from ITV about doing this show called Popstars: The Rivals. I didn’t want to do it. I’m going to be honest with you.

Louis Walsh has revealed that he believes The X Factor is so successful because it is "car crash TV'. The judge told RTÉ that the ITV programme, which began its seventh series watched by 11.3m last weekend, had something for everyone. "It's like car crash TV," he said. "It's a reality show, it's a fashion show, it's everything." He added: "And it's a talent show as well, at the end of the day. Everybody watches it." However, the "lucky" music manager insisted that he never considered a career in television before landing a role in 2002's Popstars: The Rivals. "I never wanted to be on TV," he confessed. Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has been mocked for being boring in the opening episode of X Factor series seven. Halliwell stood in for Dannii Minogue at the Glasgow auditions earlier this year, when the Australian judge was on maternity leave from the ITV1 programme. However, in the launch show, the veteran pop singer and former Popstars: The Rivals mentor is ridiculed for her lengthy verdicts on all the acts. Mocking Halliwell, Louis Walsh teases: "Geri talks and talks. And some of it makes sense... but not all of it." The show features a montage sequence, which uses Chas & Dave (more)...

Geri Halliwell has been chatting about her time as a judge on The X Factor.
The former Spice Girl stood in for pregnant Dannii Minogue at the Glasgow auditions earlier this year and was booed by the audience for repeatedly saying no to popular acts.
When asked how she enjoyed her stint on the ITV show, Geri said:
“I love the fact it gives everyone a chance to be a star and I absolutely love empowering people.
“I have history with all three judges. With Cheryl, I picked her for Popstars: The Rivals so I’m really proud of her and thrilled with her success.”
However, Geri said she would never audition for a reality TV show.
“You’ve got a better chance of seeing Halliwell and Cowell doing a duet,” she laughed.
And she picked out a Scottish teenage girl as one to watch when the show returns to our screens this Saturday.

Reality TV regulars The Cheeky Girls brought their pal Darius along, when they auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year.
Twin sisters Gabriela and Monica Irimia first shot to fame as auditionees in Popstars: The Rivals. They subsequently achieved success in the charts with four top ten hits between 2002 and 2004. They are best known for their debut single, “The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)”, which has sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide.
Performing for Simon Cowell and co at the London auditions the trio presented a Bollywood style dance routine. They told the cameras:
“We want to show a different side to us. Not many people know that we can dance. They only know that we can shake our bums.”
Although the routine imressed both Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, Mr C wasn’t convinced.
Piers told them:

The Cheeky Girls' successful audition aired on last night's Britain's Got More Talent. Simon Cowell did not think that they had any chance of winning the ITV1 competition, but Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan sent them through to the second stage. "We want to show a different side to us. Not many people know that we can dance," said the pop singers. "They only know that we can shake our bums. "Having Darius come dance with us is great because he is a brilliant dancer. Nadine Coyle "needs" Girls Aloud. Louis Walsh, who managed the quintet after they won U.K. reality TV show "Popstars: The Rivals" in 2002, doesn't believe the Irish singer will quit the group, despite recent reports of a rift within the band.
"I think she needs Girls Aloud. The only person who can sort out the problems is her," Louis said. "Because the other girls are all over here and she's in Los Angeles."
Despite the rest of the group, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh, previously admitting they rarely speak to U.S.-based Nadine, Louis insists their lack of friendship will not be a problem for their professional lives. He told heat magazine, "I think there's another album there."
"They have to make one more. They don't have to like each other, they just have to work together. No girl band really gets on well."

X Factor judge Louis Walsh has been singing the praises of his colleague Cheryl Cole, saying that she ‘was born’ to dance and sing.
Louis first met Cheryl when he judged on Popstars: The Rivals and helped her into her first singing role in Girls Aloud. He managed her band for a year after the show and the pair crossed paths again years later, when Cheryl was hired to judge alongside him on the X Factor.
Speaking of the pair’s growing friendship, Louis told the Chronicle: “I’ve known Cheryl for a long time, probably longer than many people around her these days. I knew her from Popstars: The Rivals. I was her mentor.
“I liked her. But I only really clicked with her during X Factor.
“It’s why I think she’s a good judge, because she’s been through it all herself.
