Adam Cole is no stranger to injury, but the Aew wrestler says his latest one — a broken ankle — is the most difficult to deal with to date. On Tuesday, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to update fans on his current situation.
“Emotionally, this has been the most challenging injury of my career. Without question,” Cole wrote. “Thank you to Everyone who has reached out & shown support. Means more than you know.”

WWE’s Nxt won out in the so-called Tuesday Night War against Aew’s “Dynamite.”
According to the Nielsen overnight ratings, Nxt pulled in 921,000 viewers on Tuesday night with 396,000 in the key adults 18-49 demographic. “Dynamite” averaged 609,000 viewers with 346,000 in the demo. While that is a far cry from the numbers seen during the Monday Night Wars between WWE (then WWF) and WCW, it is still a resounding victory for WWE, with Nxt up approximately 7.5% compared to last week’s show.
The two shows do not typically air against each other. Nxt currently runs on Tuesdays on USA Network, while “Dynamite” airs on Wednesdays on TBS. But the Major League Baseball playoffs on TBS this week meant that “Dynamite” needed to shift nights, putting them once again in direct competition with WWE’s developmental show.
Both companies tried to pull out all the stops to draw viewers. Aew announced what they called “Title Tuesday,...

Over the summer, All Elite Wrestling has faced a string of injuries to top talent including its world champion Cm Punk. Tony Khan saw this series of unfortunate events as an opportunity to give emerging stars the time to shine. And rather than vacate the Aew title, the owner also decided to crown an interim champ through a tournament won by Jon Moxley. He’ll defend against the inaugural Aew champion Chris Jericho on the August 10 episode of Dynamite, themed as Quake on the Lake. Khan, who believes both men are at their best since signing with the company, looks forward to the show kicking off busy weeks heading into the September 4 tentpole All Out and September 21’s second annual Grand Slam. The enthusiastic leader expects to finish the second half of the year on a high note with a stacked roster and celebrating exciting milestones like the first-ever Aew video game.

I must be on something of a subconscious James Bond kick at the moment. I’ve just finished re-watching the Daniel Craig Bond films, and then this book caught my eye. Dynamite’s had the rights to do James Bond for a while now, and in general they’ve been doing a decent job. They’ve certainly attracted some great writers along the way, names like Warren Ellis, Christos Gage, and Greg Pak have all graced the pages of 007’s adventures. This time it’s the turn of Phillip Kennedy Johnson, no slouch himself. Eisner-nominated, he has worked for Marvel and DC for small books like Avengers and Superman. I’m expecting good things.
Let’s take a look.

Welcome to Nerdly’s review of a very special 101st episode of Aew: Dark, a bonuis this week in a Friday night slot – no doubt added to the weeks roster of shows to get Aew fans used to watching their programming on Friday nights, just on time for next weeks debut of Aew: Rampage.
Match #1: Jurassic Express def. Ryzin and D3
My Thoughts: Jurassic Express ran over Ryzin and D3 like bugs. Luchasaurus got some decent action here, unlike most weeks, in your usual Aew quasi-squash match!
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Kris Statlander def. Leila Grey
My Thoughts: Another quick match that felt somewhat deflated. There was nothing here that stood out from either women. Hell, they even looked so similar everything blurred into one!
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #3: Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix def. Jake St. Patrick and Sage Scott
My Thoughts:...

Updated: Domino’s Pizza may be slicing their ties with All Elite Wrestling (Aew) after one of their ads ran during a particularly bloody match on Wednesday night.
In Wednesday’s episode of “Dynamite” on TNT, Aew star Chris Jericho went up against legendary deathmatch wrestler Nick Gage in a no disqualification match that featured baseball bats, panes of glass, fluorescent light tubes, and more. At one point during the match, Gage used a pizza slicer and appeared to cut Jericho’s forehead. At the same time, Aew ran a picture-in-picture ad for Dominos that began with someone cutting up a pizza using a pizza slicer.
“Domino’s was not involved, nor had any foreknowledge, of the gory scene on the ‘Aew: Dynamite’ main event Wednesday night that showed wrestler Nick Gage apparently slicing Chris Jericho’s head open with a pizza cutter,” a Domino’s spokesperson said in a statement to Front Office Sports.

BTS ruled the Billboard Hot 100 with their second English-language single “Butter,” but then after seven weeks on top it was replaced by BTS’s third English-language single, “Permission to Dance.” On the chart dated July 31, however, “Butter” climbed back into the top spot for an eighth week, tying Olivia Rodrigo‘s “Drivers License” as the longest-running chart-topper of the year (so far). But which viral hit do you think is better? Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

Gallant surveys the wreckage of a relationship in “Dynamite,” a smooth piano ballad with a casually serrated chorus: “If we lost our minds, blew up like dynamite/Wouldn’t that be nice?” The track appeared in March on the R&b singer’s Neptune EP.
Neptune featured several duets — including “Third Eye Blind” with Arin Ray and “No More Tries” with VanJess — but none landed with the harsh force of “Dynamite.” Gallant is accompanied only by a piano, which pushes the listener to concentrate on the lyrics, words that capture...

BTS covered Puff Daddy, Faith Evans, and 112’s classic Notorious B.I.G. tribute, “I’ll Be Missing You,” during their first appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
The track famously interpolates the Police’s 1983 hit, “Every Breath You Take,” and the performance featured some very Eighties pop stylings as rich, punchy piano and a searing guitar simmered beneath BTS’ vocals and harmonies.
Along with covering “I’ll Be Missing You,” BTS performed their 2020 hit “Dynamite” and their latest single, “Permission to Dance,” during their Live Lounge appearance.

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament: Deadly Draw review, right here on Nerdly. Actually, this Semi-Final edition ought to be the last of these, because Aew is putting the finals of this tournament on the Saturday broadcast of Dynamite. The women have done a nice job of keeping this show from becoming some sort of feminist movement and, instead, just have done their part to look like competitors in a tournament. I bring that up because Brandi Rhodes keeps trying to make everything with the women into a #MeToo fiasco everytime she’s on camera. If you want the women to get over, then book them simply and consistently, like what Impact Wrestling is doing again with the Knockout’s division. Okay, the rant is over. We’ve got the semi-finals for the Deadly Draw tournament coming at you, like all those...

Wrestling fans. We’re odd sorts. We love pro-wrestling, and when we find something we love about it, we rave and we jump for joy and we shout from the rooftops about how good it is, but man oh man… if we dislike something? Look out. The modern day of pro-wrestling fandom is much different to when I first started watching wrestling back in the beginning of the 90s, when Hulkamania and Macho Madness were running wild, and thousands of Doomers, Warriors and Maniacs were chanting from ringside each week. It was a different time, not just in terms of the action we saw and the presentation of companies like WWF and WCW, but in terms of the fans. It was way harder to immediately give your opinion to the world back then. There was no social media, no blogspot or angelfire, no internet forums, no YouTube. If you wanted...

When my mother asked me why I was buying up all the comics I could, I made an attempt to satisfy her underlying problem. “I’m not wasting my money, Mom, these comics are worth money!” She bought that. Years later, she asked me when I was going to sell them and enjoy the tidy profit. Wouldn’t you know it? All those copies of Night Man and Mantra weren’t worth the paper they were printed on. And my Walgreens copy of Cyberforce: Bloodstryke? Nary a nickel would be given to me by any one aside from maybe Marc Silvestri. Had I been smart enough, I would have picked up the holo-foil variant cover, and nabbed me a dime.
You see kiddos, when I got into comics, the ‘Variant’ cover ruled the land. In the go-go-nineties, when people suddenly thought comic books were highly coveted collectables, the publishers followed...
