The settings are not quite so effective as they might have been
deickemeyer14 March 2018
This two reel film was produced abroad, in the grounds of a wealthy German near Berlin, and while the settings are not quite so effective as they might have been under the circumstances, they have an unusual appeal. The story tells about the love of a crown prince for an opera singer, whom he is called upon to renounce when his father dies and he becomes king. This he does, but when the girl saves his life during an attempt to assassinate him, he abdicates in favor of a younger brother. Miss Leah Baird plays the part of the opera singer with very good effect. - The Moving Picture World, January 10, 1914
