Algy is a character who will furnish good sport

The scenery in this picture will interest most audiences. It shows Santa Cruz Island and the story is a legend of the place. Algy is a character who will furnish good sport. His capture of the wild man, while it disgusted the girls of the picture, so amused the boys that they forgave his bragging. That is a very exciting race where the wild man appears suddenly in the midst of the surprised party and Algy makes hurried tracks toward his friends, leaving the girls to whatever fate might befall them. The escape and kidnapping of Algy, the second capture and the following recital of Algy's prowess are all good comedy and will be enjoyed by any audience. - The Moving Picture World, September 23, 1911
