Okay so now that i have your attention. I was just watching SWAK on the history channel and was thinking. Tony has probably had the most near death experiences of them all. No need to list them for you hardcore fans.

And i was thinking that McGee is probably the character on the show that has the biggest opportunity for character development. He still strikes me as the wide eyed newbie still trying to fit it and please everyone. So now that they supposedly have been broken up the team (yeah..right) here's one way to bring them back.

SHOOT MCGEE. on assignment Mcgee gets shot and is in a coma, Gibbs heads up the investigation and brings back the team to track down his shooter. As an unlikely supporter, Tony is there talking to him relating his own experiences (SWAK). In turn they all spend time with him and relate how much they do respect his abilities.

Of course McGee survives but is a slightly more colder, harder version of his old self as he tries to deal with the shooting (for a few episodes anyways until he plays a practical joke on Tony and the episode ends with the old Mcgee back)

As a result Vance sees what a closely knit team they are and puts them back together.

So any ideas on this?
