When the film premiered at the National Screen Institute, backjumping took off as a local "sport" at some of the Winnipeg schools.
Despite it being scripted, more than a few people believe that the characters are real people, and that backjumping is a real sport. About 10% of the film was ad-libbed during the shoot.
The film was conceived, written, shot and edited in three weeks on a shoestring budget of less than $3,000, most of it charged on a credit card.
