Many beautiful Hollywood actors have conquered multiple genres, but Salma Hayek Pinault is one of the most alluring and versatile. For decades, Pinault has exemplified glamour and beauty, with roles that show her talent for creating unique characters. Her most recent part, opposite Channing Tatum in Magic Mike’s Last Dance, is a wealthy businesswoman who fully embraces her sensuality.
For Pinault, who is known for her confidence, there are times when she hesitates to truly step into that “sexy” mentality. She explained more in a recent conversation with Glamour magazine, where she discussed the sheer dress that she wore to the premiere of Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

The series hails from writer, executive producer, and showrunner Craig Rosenberg. Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan of Aggregate Films will also executive produce, with Roxie Rodriguez of Aggregate co-executive producing. UCP will serve as the studio.
Inspired by an actual event, “Based on a True Story” is about a realtor, a plumber and a former tennis star whose lives unexpectedly collide, exposing America’s obsession with true crime, murder and the slow close toilet seat.\
“There are some true stories that are stranger than fiction as is the case for the events that inspire this show,” said Beatrice Springborn, president of UCP. “It is a twisted, thrilling and incredibly funny series that combines the comic and suspense talents of the dream team of Craig Rosenberg, Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and Roxie Rodriguez to create the perfect show for Peacock.

For its list of new releases of February 2022, HBO Max is bringing back one of its biggest original series.
The Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi epic Raised by Wolves helped launch HBO Max back in 2020 and now it’s finally back for another season. Raised by Wolves season 2 premieres with three episodes on Feb. 3. This season will continue the conflict between future atheists and theists on a remote planet, while two androids raise some kids.
February 2022 also sees the end of another, more recent HBO Max hit. Peacemaker airs its finale on Feb. 17. Thankfully that same day sees the premiere of another exciting original. Dream Raider is a Mandarin-language sci-fi thriller that carries some big Inception vibes.
There aren’t many original movies of note this month, but there are a lot of recent hits coming to HBO Max as library titles. Nightmare Alley arrives on Feb. 1, followed by The Many Saints of Newark on Feb.

Had “The Misfits” been made 22 years earlier — say, in the sweet spot between James Bond globe-trotter “The World Is Not Enough” and the release of Guy Ritchie’s “Snatch” — chances are, audiences would’ve had a pretty good time watching “Die Hard 2” director Renny Harlin’s idea of a cutting-edge heist movie. “The Misfits” stars Pierce Brosnan as one of half a dozen not-so-petty criminals who team up to knock off a for-profit prison in Abu Dhabi, where the guy who built it (Tim Roth) has been stockpiling blood money for terrorists in the form of well-secured gold bars.
But this is 2021, and Harlin — who peaked with “Cliffhanger,” bombed with “Cutthroat Island” and has been treading water ever since — is still making movies for ’90s sensibilities. Even the idea of a team of rule-breakers who pool their talents (all of which seem perfectly suited for breaking the law) to...

Although it might seem the amount of family drama would result in a certain over-saturation of the market, the sub-genres tendency to touch upon issues of personal as well as national identity along with a wide range of social themes, make the family unit one of the most lasting metaphors of our time. Within the last couple of years, international audiences have seen the various facets of said metaphor, for example, in Hirokazu Kore-eda’s highly successful “Shoplifters”, which also shed a light to the “invisible” members of our society and their problems. In that regard, Michio Koshikawa’s feature “After the Sunset” has to be seen in a similar light, as the story of the film deals with family issues, while its themes of identity may reflect a much wider search for identity and the re-affirmation of the concept of home.

This year saw Keanu Reeves get some deserved attention for his ass-kicking role in John Wick, though the film should have gotten even more attention at the box office. For this week’s spotlight piece, I wanted to take a go a bit old school and take a look at an A-lister who’s been around for a while now…Pierce Brosnan. A very charming actor, he went from being well known and well liked on television to a mega star when he became one of the notable few ever to essay the role of secret agent 007 in the James Bond franchise. Brosnan has also been one of the more successful post Bond actors, doing his best not to be defined by the iconic role. As such, he’s retained that A-list status and is well deserving of today’s spotlight piece. Here we go! Brosnan had his beginnings on television, in made for TV movies and bit parts, before he became a known commodity with his series Remington Steele. That show made him a small screen star (and...

The recent resurrection of the historical Hammer Films studio was, of course, cause for much celebration among horror fans around the world. The British production company built a name for itself in horror in the 1960s and it's been great to have them back. (You don't have to bother with The Resident, but Hammer productions Wake Wood, Let Me In, and The Woman in Black are all worthwhile horror films.) The company's latest offering is, at best, a mixed bag. The Quiet Ones aims to combine an effectively creepy story set in 1974 with a bunch of "found footage" footage that serves no real purpose.
The plot is pure, simple Hammer stuff: a dedicated but plainly obsessed university professor (the great Jared Harris) and his two graduate students welcome the arrival of a new cameraman (Sam Claflin) who will document their work. And as poor Brian McNeil quickly discovers, the trio's...

Even with three of his films experiencing less-than-stellar critical reception, the majestic images and decent box office of Tarsem Singh's work have still allowed the “Mirror, Mirror” director a bevy of upcoming projects. His “Marco Polo” biopic is currently in the pre-production stages, and while Tarsem is set to next helm the Ryan Reynolds sci-fi drama “Selfless,” he's just been announced to stay within the same high-concept wheelhouse in the immediate future. The Wrap reports Tarsem will enter “The Panopticon,” an original sci-fi thriller written by Craig Rosenberg (“After The Sunset”), which follows an ordinary man who receives a mysterious package containing a message from himself—one that warns of the world's end if he doesn't find a way to prevent it. Now we can add another to the mix that's been in development for years. The Wrap reports The Cell, The Fall and Immortals director is set to helm The Panopticon, a sci-fi action thriller from After the Sunset writer Craig Rosenberg. You may remember we wrote about the film all the way back in 2009 when The Haunting in Connecticut director Peter Cornwell was involved. More below! Singh joining the project is good news since the original story follows a salesman who receives a pre-recorded message from himself that tells him the world is about to end and only he can save it. It's a race against time to piece a...

Danny Boyle’s Trance is now available on DigitalHD and will debut on Blu-ray add DVD July 23. To celebrate, we have 1 copy of the disc to giveaway to a lucky reader.
Trance brings us tons of twists and turns in the plot as multiple layers of backstabbing occur. Movies with unexpected turns have become a favorite of audiences. It’s a difficult task to make sure that the twist is unpredictable, but when it is done correctly, double-cross heist films make great additions to movie history. Here, we lay out some of our favorite twisty-turny heist films.
From Academy Award-Winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) comes an “exhilarating brain-twister” (New York Post)! After a blow to the head during his attempted robbery of a $27 million Goya painting, Simon (James McAvoy, X-Men: First Class), a fine-art auctioneer, awakens to find that the painting – and his memory – are missing. There hasn't been much buzz about Marthe Keller's induction into France's Legion of Honor. Or the induction of actresses Dominique Blanc and Anny Duperey. The selection of fellow 2012 Chevalier inductee Salma Hayek, however, has been a whole different matter. In early 2003, the Mexican-born Hayek, 45, was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award for her performance as Frida Kahlo in Julie Taymor's Frida. Her other film credits include Desperado, From Dusk Til Dawn, After the Sunset, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and the animated hit Puss in Boots. She is now reportedly working on a biopic of Mexican superstar Maria Félix. But are Puss in Boots and an Oscar nod enough qualification for Legion of Honor "membership"? Hayek's inclusion in this year's Legion of Honor roster (as a Chevalier, or Knight) has been criticized by some who have accused French president Nicolas Sarkozy of using the ceremony...

Oh that Brett Ratner.
Earlier this year, Ratner signed on to co-produce the Academy Awards and enlisted his buddy Eddie Murphy to act as host. This was considered a coup for the Oscar telecast, mostly because Murphy is being seen as an ideal choice as emcee.
But now, Ratner is out. Well, actually, he resigned after an uproar over comments he made recently while promoting his latest film, Tower Heist (which, by the way, is not stealing much cash at the box office).
First, there was Ratner's appearance on G4's Attack of the Show where he discussed his relationship with former Attack of the Show co-host Olivia Munn, saying, "I used to date Olivia Munn, I'll be honest with everyone here. But when she was 'Lisa.' She wasn't Asian back then. She was hanging out on my set of After the Sunset, I banged her a few times,...

Director Brett Ratner was set to produce the 84th Academy Awards while his "Tower Heist" star Eddie Murphy is set to host it. But during the media rounds for the new movie, Ratner has made so many offensive comments that he has been forced to resign as a producer of the Oscars. On the Howard Stern Show, the director said that he sent Lindsay Lohan to the doctor to check for STDs before sleeping with her. He went on to say that he has huge balls and is the best at oral sex. Regarding Olivia Munn, he said: "I used to date Olivia Munn. when she was Lisa. That was the problem. She wasn't Asian back then ... She was hanging out on my set of 'After the Sunset,' I banged her a few times, but I forgot her ... The problem is I made her look like whore." And...

Brett Ranter isn’t name you would normally associate with good movies and his overall demeanor is the epitome of douchebagery. His “rehearsals are for fags” remark, and opening up about his sex life on The Howard Stern show, only proves that Ranter has the brain of a five-year old. As a result the director has stepped down as producer of the upcoming Academy Awards. But didn’t the Aamps know what they were getting into with Ranter? His previous works should have been a huge signal to them that the director shouldn’t be the first choice for anything except people who should not be considered to produce the Oscars.
My claims are not baseless; in fact Ranter film’s speak for themselves. They are the lowest form of any cinematic experience and possess zero entertainment value. Some how the AMPAS brought the director to produce the Academy Awards,...

I think it's funny that a lot of blogs are throwing the word "Shocker!" in their title and posts for this news as if Brett Ratner's departure from the Oscars is actually surprising. I'm sorry, but I don't find this news that Brett Ratner has stepped down as an Oscar producer surprising at all. This guy barely follows through with anything he gets involved with. I remember at one point he was attached to direct 12 different films, and then eventually ended up making Tower Heist that did poorly at the box office. Why did he decide to step down? Maybe because he can't keep his mouth shut. The guy loves to shove his foot in his mouth.
THR listed a collection offensive quotes that Ratner has made recently that helped him make his decision of stepping down. Warning these quotes will make you hate Ratner even more... if that's possible.

There's a firestorm brewing in Southern California this week, and it has nothing to with high winds or drought conditions. As first reported by Vulture, "Tower Heist" director and 2012 Academy Awards producer Brett Ratner shocked an audience at the ArcLight Cinemas in Los Angeles last week by responding to a question about his attitude toward cast rehearsals with the line "Rehearsing is for fags." And suddenly every problem I've ever had with the acting in Brett Ratner's movies makes sense.
Ratner quickly submitted an apology to TheWrap ("I apologize for any offense my remarks caused. It was a dumb way of expressing myself.") and Academy president Tom Sherak told Deadline that he accepted it. But that hasn't stopped some within the Academy and the industry from calling for Ratner to be fired as producer of next year's Oscars.
TheWrap quoted an unnamed "longtime Academy member" worried that Ratner's antics were "tarnishing" the Oscars' brand.

Moviemaker Brett Ratner has publicly apologised for remarks he made about having sex with TV presenter and actress Olivia Munn.
The director was a guest on U.S. TV programme Attack of the Show, which was previously hosted by Munn, last week (ends04Nov11) when he was asked to comment on reports suggesting he is the mystery subject of salacious and unsavoury stories in the Iron Man 2 star's memoirs.
He revealed, "I used to date Olivia Munn... when she was Lisa... She was hanging out on my set of After the Sunset, I banged her a few times... but I forgot her.
"Because she changed her name... I didn’t know it was the same person. So when she came and auditioned for me for a TV show, I forgot her, she got p**sed off and she made up all these stories about me eating shrimp and masturbating in my trailer. And my shortcomings. She talked about my shortcomings. I get it. She’s bitter."
Munn has yet to respond to Ratner's comments, but the filmmaker apologised during an appearance on Howard Stern's satellite radio show on Monday.
Ratner insisted he was lying about having sex with his "friend" Munn and added he is not the unnamed director with the "undersized manhood" she writes about in her book.
He explained, "She’s actually talented. The problem is I made her look like she’s a whore."...

When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Brett Ratner, best known for action flicks such as Rush Hour 3, After the Sunset, and X-Men: The Last Stand, would co-produce with Don Mischer the Oscar ceremony telecast, eyebrows were raised so high they reached some people's lower backs. Now they have gone round and are probably up to their belly button. A few days ago, on the cable station G4's Attack of the Show Ratner claimed he "banged" actress Olivia Munn (I Don't Know How She Does It) "a few times … but I forgot her," partly because "she wasn't Asian" at the time. Ratner's classy remarks were a response to Munn's equally classy remarks in her book Suck It, Wonder Woman: The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek, in which the author claims she caught Ratner jerking off his tiny dick while stuffing his face with bits of greasy shrimp.

He's pretty much known as a pig in the industry, and she's a kind-of hot chick who pretends to be a geek in order to make herself appear cooler. So in conclusion: Brett Ratner and Olivia Munn are made for each other.
In her memoir, Suck It, Wonder Woman!: The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek, (groan), Olivia shares some... disgusting details of a super short relationship she had with a pretty famous director when she was starting out in the industry. These vomit inducing details include seeing, "a grown man in an oversized shirt holding his undersized manhood in hands glistening with shrimp fat."
Well, on a press tour on Thursday, Brett cleared the air, announcing that he was the director that slept with Olivia, but denied the whole shrimp fat incident.
"I used to date Olivia Munn, I'll be honest with everyone here. But when she was 'Lisa.

And now for the strangest (and perhaps grossest) news you'll hear all week -- and maybe all month.
The conversation segued into something a lot juicier than the making of "Tower Heist" when director Brett Ratner did an interview on G4's "Attack of the Show," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show's host brought up a specific passage in Olivia Munn's 2010 collection of personal essays, "Suck It, Wonder Woman!: The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek," in which the "Magic Mike" star describes her past relationship with Ratner ... and claims that the director once masturbated in front of her while eating raw shrimp.
Let that sink in for a minute -- or maybe you should just keep reading as quickly as possible…

"Tower Heist" director Brett Ratner appeared on G4's "Attack of the Show!" Thursday (Nov. 3), and he had a few things to say about the show's former co-host Olivia Munn.
(Warning: You might not want to read this post if you're eating. Or just ate.)
Munn's memoir, "Suck It, Wonder Woman!: The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek" mentions a that she once saw a Hollywood director she had dated holding his "undersized manhood" while eating shrimp.
It was widely assumed that this director was none other than Ratner. He confirmed that he did date Munn; however, he claims the shrimp and the manhood holding didn't actually happen.

Let Brett Ratner get a few things straight: Olivia Munn is a liar, except when she's saying flattering things.
The "Tower Heist" director and Oscars producer has been using his considerable, guy's guy charm on the talk show circuit of late to promote his upcoming gigs -- both of which star his boyhood hero, Eddie Murphy -- and his press tour took him Thursday to a little pitch session to woo the free spending, young male audience in the cable woods of G4's "Attack of the Show." Unfortunately for Ratner, it wasn't a total fanboy love fest, because that show's got some serious incidental implications concerning the director's most intimate of secrets.
In Olivia Munn's memoir, "Suck It, Wonder Woman!: The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek," the far-too-intimate details of a short relationship with a bigwig Hollywood director are amongst many tales she recalled from her early days in Hollywood.

Happier timesIt seemed like only yesterday we were in the streets celebrating the blessed union of our most important public figure Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries with E!'s televised special "Kim's Fairytale Wedding" when it aired all the way back on October 9. Of course, this was a tape delayed program, edited after the actual wedding took place back on August 20, 2011 when Kim and the love of her life said, "I do." Unfortunately, today, October 31, 2011, we learn the marriage is over. Kim filed for divorce creating a Halloween we will all remember for a long time to come. After enjoying 72 days of wedded bliss the world has lost one of their most beloved couples and on such an occasion I felt it was important to take a look back at just what life was like back when these two crazy kids embarked on that crazy journey we call love. Most importantly,...
