This film is a professionally made TV-film with a plot like a 19th century novel of manners. It starts in Vienna where a lawyer is struggling with his finances (those required to keep up the upper middle class living standard). Mademoiselle Else is the pretty daughter who can save the family from disgrace by charming a loan out of a rich acquaintance. She is sent to a luxurious countryside hotel for that purpose, but it all goes horribly wrong. The rich acquaintance desires something in return for his support and the naive Else finds herself caught between the honour of her family and her honour as a woman. The dramatic solution at which she arrives is in accordance with the mores of her time.

I came to this site in about 2003, trying to find this title , but I found nothing, and felt angry then. now I feel very proud and glad to see that IMDb add some more French TV productions which I like so much today I can't remember the whole story , but it is really a good movie in my memory. this film is more or less a typically well made French TV movie , with good story, fine actors and actresses, flamboyant atmosphere, but understated shooting style and Julie Delarme did a good job as she did many times before French movie/TV movies sometimes are really underrated in my mind like this one or many others, but I think one day they will attain recognition they deserve it deserves an 8
