The story is the same, but at least the sex was different....C+

I know I've ranted before about the lack of creativity when it comes to softcore movie titles. Just look at the list of the ones I've reviewed. "Passion's Peak", "Deviant Obsession", "Intimate Obsession", "Sinful Obsession" "Deviant Desires", "Erotic Obsessions".....the list goes on and on. "Passionate Deceptions" falls into the same category. Not only does it have the requisite recycled softcore title, but it also has a recycled softcore plot.

L.A. cops Susan Tiano (Belinda Gavin) and Tucker Schaffer (Todd White) are part of the Internet Sex Crime division; actually, they ARE the division. Susan craves more excitement in her job, since she's bored paying off prostitutes for their good work after arresting their clients all day. Tucker wishes to play it safe and just be a good cop. Of course, he's banging Susan, and wishes to keep it on the "down low" so they won't get fired.

A homicide case leads them to a house rigged with cameras and a bunch of horny girls inside. If any of you have seen those internet ads for "Voyeur Dorms", you know what I mean. These women bring guys back to the house and have sex with them, only afterwards letting the guys in on the secret--they've just become internet porn stars! Well, Kendra (Keri Windsor), one of the girls in the house, gets murdered and everyone's a suspect. With no one talking and the killer not coming forward, how are the cops going to solve the case? Susan, sensing a chance to do something daring, decides to go undercover as one of the girls to see if the killer will return.

Although this is the first time I've seen this movie, it's NOT the first time I've seen this storyline. For example, Flower played the role of Susan in "Deviant Desires" and Brick Randall played Susan in "Deviant Obsession." This plot has been used so often in so many movies, I can describe it. In order to solve a (mystery, murder, or both), an unusually good looking woman who just happens to be a (cop/private eye/lawyer) goes undercover at a (whorehouse/strip club/place where hot girls hang out) to get to the bottom of it. It's a plot device used almost as often as STSWB. In fact, I'll call it CTCWB, or "Crack The Case With Breasts."

Anyway, the owner of the house is Kelli Selleck (Tamara Landry) who jiggles her big boobs around, making the guys around her putty in her hands. All of the action at the house goes on tape for posterity, recorded in a room only Kelli has access to....but she doesn't seem to know why the tape of Kendra being killed is missing. Gee, I guess we know who did it now, but the movie isn't even half over.

There were a decent amount of sex scenes, including one to open the flick and one to end it. Belinda got naked three times, twice during sex scenes and once watching someone else having sex. Tamara has two sex scenes, both of which were subpar and not really her best work. The extra moaning and slapping was a plus, however. Don't read the rest of this review if you don't want to know how it ends.

In the anti-climactic ending (we pretty much know Kelli did it about halfway through) it seems that Kelli was trying to pin the murder on one of the more naive girls in the house, Olivia (Isabella) after she refused to take a $500,000 payoff. For someone in need of money, as she states over and over again throughout the film, I don't see why she didn't take the cash and run far, far away from this. I know I should of after this movie was over. This flick isn't really tapeworthy, but some of the sex scenes weren't that bad.

Women: B (Belinda Gavin wasn't terrible, but she needs a bit of work. Tamara Landry is a "butterface"--everything looks good on her but her face. Maya Divine was in the opening scene, and she looked quite different than she did in Bikini Airways. If Maya usually looks like this, I'll be a much happier guy. I don't know what happened to her in Bikini Airways, but she didn't look like THAT. Wow! Keri Windsor was pretty good for the short time she was on the screen, and Isabella played her role remarkably well. The rest of the girls were just window dressing, but they were okay.)

Sex: B (For the most part, this flick has solid sex scenes that get the job done. A good amount of movement, screaming, moaning, slapping....you name it, it was there. A couple of them were of the "going through the motions" variety, so a grade point comes off for that.)

Story: C- (Since the film has an overused plot, it comes down to the execution, and it's average at best. Belinda doesn't really get down and dirty with any guys while living in the house, but she did solve the case while she was there. Like I said before, Isabella played her role well. Her character seemed to be extremely naive and vulnerable, and she played it that way. Believe it or not, she was the only one who seemed to have a modicum of acting ability.)

Overall: C+ (A barely-better-than-average softcore movie by MRG Entertainment, usually a good source for quality skin flicks. The story grade brings the overall grade down a bit because of the hit it takes in the originality department. However, decent looking women and fairly good sex scenes save "Passionate Deceptions" from being a total disaster.)
