Here’s a new twist on a tired gimmick: A found footage flick spread across three VHS cassettes that are discovered years after a horrifying series of events befall a small group of friends. Eric Anthony Pereira’s “The Locals” — not to be confused with Greg Page’s 2003 effort — is set in the ultra-campy landscape of the mid-80′s, which explains why its cannibal-centric storyline is “captured” on this antiquated format. To set the stage for the film’s eventual release, comic book artist Dennis Willman has crafted a kick-ass poster that harkens back to the pre-Photoshop days of horror movie promotion. Check out the picture’s official press release: The upcoming 80′s-set “found footage” cannibal/slasher film “The Locals” has released its first official poster and a collage of select “character shots”. Also included are a variety of set photos via the film’s official Facebook page which can be found at – http://www.
