A better story line than the film
brad-kruse12 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This is not great drama, and as a documentary the subject (the film Erotic Witch Project) is pretty lame.

This peek into the making of an adult erotic film treats the actresses more as as people than characters. The process of directing the contrived and staged sex scenes skips the really lame story line of the film, and fills the time with the sex scenes you pick up something like this to see.

I liked the glimpses of the scantiness of the story line in the script, and how the actors and director follow the script without regarding it as a great classic.

This isn't something to watch for great entertainment, to enlighten and delight. But I found it fun, and worth (a little of) my time.

Interminable junk about a junker

This time-waster is the reason I despise the DVD revolution (of course now overtaken by Blu-Ray and downloading, such is progress). In Pavlovian fashion movies-at-home fans have been trained to expect all sorts of extras with their purchase, so filler like this is generated to give the illusion of delivering one's "money's worth".

Clocking in at over 50 minutes, you'd expect an exegesis of the making of a Kubrick classic or something important. Instead we're treated to seeing the soft porn babes applying their makeup, groping each other in the lesbian scenes just like in the real feature video, horsing around on the set, and generally acting foolish. Their aspirations are pitiful, especially lesser known talent like Allanah Rhodes, a plain Jane blonde who has ended up in lesbian bondage videos, the kind IMDb annoyingly classifies under the "Adventure" genre, meaning an adventure in boredom I daresay.

The level of boredom in this "behind the scenes" effort is high, as the feature's writer-director John Bacchus demonstrates his inability to direct his way out of a paper bag. Documentary director Justin Wingenfeld has subsequently made a non-career in the horror genre, but I doubt any of these New Jersey soft porn practitioners will survive against the millions of amateur You Tubers out there, most of whom have more talent than these proved hacks.
