2017-11-06T12:14:26-08:00Nfl Football Ratings Were Up Again This Weekend
The NFL battled itself this weekend with CBS' coverage of Sunday games challenging NBC's prime time Sunday Night Football coverage. CBS was the winner, posting ratings for its late game that were significantly higher than those of the same week last season. But NBC didn't do terribly, either, turning in ratings that at least improved over last week's. In any case, the upward trend continues for NFL ratings despite Donald Trump's calls for a boycott of the league.

CBS had true bragging rights on Sunday. Though its coverage of the Dallas’ win over Kansas City barely made its way into primetime, it was by far the biggest football game of the day — besting NBC's Sunday Night Football (Oakland and Miami) by nearly 50 percent.
Final: The @raiders get a win on the road!

NEW YORK -- CBS Sports reached the end zone up slightly this season. The NFL on CBS delivered a 11.3 rating/23 share during the regular season in the local metered markets monitored by Nielsen Media Research. That was up 2% compared with the 11.1/22 that it earned in the 2003 regular season. The national ratings are expected to be released Thursday. The week 17 regional matchups were CBS' highest-rated regional games since the last week of the 1999 season, the network said Monday. The games -- including Pittsburgh-Buffalo and New York-St. Louis -- averaged a 13.3/26 and were up 41% from last year's week 17 matchups. Ratings for the national game between 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m. were up 13% from last year, making it the highest-rated national game of the season.
