The programme ran regularly for two seven-part series each year from 1987 until 1997, when the programme reached its 122nd edition. It was then replaced by a number of hour-long Cook Report Specials which ran intermittently until 1999.
This show was parodied regularly on various TV shows over the years including Roger Mellie: The Man On The Telly and The Benny Hill Show.
The archives of the Cook Report were completely destroyed in a fire at a London data centre in 2006.
