MUNICH -- Austrian pubcaster ORF said Tuesday that it is joining the ranks of broadcasters that will show Michael Moore's anti-Bush documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 on Nov. 1, only months after its theatrical release. German commercial channel ProSieben will broadcast 9/11 on the same evening (HR 10/7), and the film will be available in the United States on In Demand pay-per-view television as part of a Michael Moore Election Special. ORF will run Fahrenheit as the climax of its U.S. election background coverage, which includes two other critical documentaries over the next two weeks: People Like Us: Social Class in America, by Andrew Kolker and Louis Alvarez, and Robert Greenwald's Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism.

NEW YORK -- In an echo of the media frenzy surrounding Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11, a so-called "guerrilla documentary" -- partially funded by liberal groups -- that takes aim at Rupert Murdoch and Fox News Channel was unveiled to reporters Monday. Out-foxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism features interviews with former Fox News employees and others as well as clips of the channel's own reportage in an effort to paint a picture of the network as promoting a conservative agenda -- despite its on-air slogan vowing to be "fair and balanced." Snippets of Outfoxed were shown to journalists during a news conference at a Manhattan hotel. The film will have its New York premiere tonight with a screening at Manhattan's New School, to be preceded by a panel discussion about the impact of media consolidation during the past decade.
