- Jean (Aurélien Recoing) and his wife Laure (Marie Matheron), somewhere in the cold landscapes of Swiss mountains (Jura), are facing the grief of having lost their only daughter in the accidental fire of their barn. They try to rebuild their life, and to overcome their loss.
The couple does not receive any money from their insurance company. Their farm does not bring enough money for a living. Although used to living as a farmer in the mountain, Jean goes to town to start working in a factory, in order to make some money. While his wife Laure falls into grief and insanity, Jean discovers a new life, a new world in the city and the factory, far from the mountain he always knew. He meets Labinota (Gabriela Muskaa), a young refugee from Kosovo, who lost her husband in the war in ex-Yugoslavia.
Then comes the spring. In her mental hospital, Laure starts getting better and tries to save her couple...
