Saison 1, Episode 1: Baby BombDate de diffusion originale—24 octobre 2004 Genetisist David Sandstrom is the chief scientist at the prestigious virology/micro-biology NORBAC laboratory which is a joint enterprise between the USA, Canada and Mexico and is responsible for countering bio-terrorism. David's nightmare day begins when his daughter arrives unexpectedly and catches him having sex with Twyla. Whilst trying to reconcile her, he receives a call from NORBAC about an Ebola outbreak that seems to be heading south along highway 17 on its way to Toronto killing everyone in its path! If this wasn't enough, on his was to NORBAC he is intercepted by a teenager who claims to be the son of an internationally renowned geneticist and a clone. The day goes from bad to worse as the death toll continues to rise, his daughter refuses to go home and the teenager turns into a stalker! David and his team struggle to determine how cow-pox can suddenly become as virulent as Ebola but not contain any of the Ebola DNA. Eventually, David has a brilliant idea and uses the analogy of "Grate Aural Sects" and "Great Oral Sex" to explain the new hybrid disease and the race is on to prove it!
Date de diffusion originale—24 octobre 2004 As the laboratory works flat out to map the new Ebola DNA the search continues for patient zero! A bus pulls into a rest stop in the outskirts of Toronto and a passenger has early symptoms of the outbreak. The bus and passengers are immediately quarantined and NORBAC notified. Is this the break they need? David and his team take samples and detailed medical histories of the passengers to try to identify patient zero. The tests lead the team to Daisy and her baby Miranda as possible carriers of this lethal new virus as both appear to be immune to it! Detailed background checks and microscopic examination of her DNA reveal that the baby Miranda is patient zero. Meanwhile, the teenage stalker and David's daughter Lilith hook up and he provides tissue samples for David to examine to determine if he is a clone. When the enormity of the betrayal is explained to Daisy, she loses it and kills baby Miranda. David tries to stop her and in the process is exposed to the Ebola virus hybrid. Bob's initial tests on the DNA samples leave him puzzled.
Date de diffusion originale—31 octobre 2004 After an anxious wait, David discovers he hasn't contracted the Ebola virus. Back at the lab Caroline interrogates Hira on her involvement with her brother, the member of a terrorist cell in Pakistan. Bob runs the DNA tests on Mick and his brother and there's growing hype around Reverend Walsh, who claims he can clone Christ from a blood smear found on a nail at the site of the Crucifixion
Saison 1, Episode 4: PrionsDate de diffusion originale—7 novembre 2004 Mayko has a difficult time dealing with Hira's death after her funeral. Her grief begins to affect her work, especially when NORBAC begins investigating what appears to be a new fast acting strain of Mad Cow Disease. Meanwhile, Wes and Caroline are already looking at candidates for the now vacant Head Virologist position.
Date de diffusion originale—14 novembre 2004 David travels to Chicago to attend the International Spanish Flu conference at which time he interviews Gill for the vacant position of head virologist at NORBAC. After spending the night with David, Gill decides not to accept the job at NORBAC. On his return to NORBAC, David and Caroline interview Harvey Thomas, a bankrupt researcher into prion type diseases like "Mad Cow". Meanwhile the team at NORBAC investigate the background of all the "Mad Cow" victims for any commonality. David and Caroline discover that the researcher went bankrupt because he had no patients on which to test his vaccine. After exhaustive checks it is discovered that all the victims ate either chicken or eggs from a particular distributor. Tests on the chicken samples show that they are all infected with "Mad Cow" prions. Tens of millions of chickens will need to be culled, however the human cost will not be known for decades. Harvey Thomas is eventually recaptured and explains why he did it and believes the government will allow him to complete his research, in fact he will be prosecuted as a bio-terrorist.

Saison 2, Episode 1: ChinaDate de diffusion originale—19 mars 2006 Attempting to flee his guilt David escapes to China and bums around trying to forget. After six weeks Homeland Security interrogates the team at NORBAC wanting to know why David is in China. David is arrested by the Red Army and taken to a remote location where they want him to investigate a mysterious, virulent pandemic that is killing 2 out of 3 people. David eventually agrees but is appalled by the antiquity of the equipment and the secrecy he must work under. He gets a partial message to NORBAC and after some analysis they reply that the mystery bacteria is an unknown hybrid of two bacteria, one of which causes food poisoning and is not usually fatal! One useful fact provided by NORBAC is that the hybrid contains over 100 copies of the same gene for some unknown reason. David is baffled by the hybrid and doesn't understand the 2-in-3 death rate. The team in NORBAC are frustrated by the lack of communication with David and eventually come to the conclusion that the mysterious bacteria is not a hybrid but the granddaddy of the two individual modern bacteria. While watching an old man draw water with an old-fashioned lift pump, David has a flash of inspiration realizing that the repeated gene is for a pump and that the bacteria must be very old and live in very hostile conditions. With this information the team conclude that survivors are those that have had food poisoning previously. Back at NORBAC, Caroline entertains a new investor. She and Carlos are to attend the Toronto AIDS conference. At the conference she is attacked by a protester and infected with a previously unknown strain of HIV.
Date de diffusion originale—26 mars 2006 David returns to Toronto and visits Caroline and Audrey Graves in hospital and explains to her how NORBAC can help her to fight the HIV injected into her. David returns to NORBAC and he team gets to work sequencing the new strain of HIV. They discover it really is a new strain and that none of the standard anti-retro viral drugs will be completely ineffective against it. Mayko Tran has been following the effects of the mass prion infection to see if anything positive has arisen and apparently IQ spikes have been noted in some of the affected children. David returns to Audrey and explains their findings and ask her to use her influence to get samples of all the cutting-edge HIV anti-viral drugs for NORBAC to test. The team try all the combinations to no avail, worse they discover that this strain is very virulent and Audrey becomes HIV+ within days. Also she must have an emergency Cesarean section to save her baby! Mayko contacts Prof. Simon Jessop, a British neuro-scientist, and invites him to NORBAC to study the IQ spikes. In sheer desperation, to help Audrey, David suggests making drug cocktails from the HIV anti-viral's and more common drugs such as Asprin.

Date de diffusion originale—9 juin 2006 The news of Gill's discovery leaks out and NORBAC becomes the focus of stem cell protesters. The team at NORBAC can't find anything unusual in the samples from New York, so start to do more exotic tests on the samples. Gill, a U.S. citizen, comes under pressure from the U.S. government for using an unauthorized stem cell line in her research. While trying to get her research ready for publication, Gill discovers that the unauthorized stem cell line contains an active retro-virus which is very serious but very strange as this line is used in laboratories all over the world and a problem hasn't been reported. David's mother dies and he goes to Vancover to attend her funeral. The politics surrounding the stem cell line become increasingly complicated but Caroline decides to go on the offensive and report the problem to the scientific community. After the funeral David's problems with his father re-emerge and he delays his return to NORBAC. Bob thinks that Glenn will awake from his coma which gives Caroline hope for the future.
