just plain awful
favrefanmt_231 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
In my defense, it wasn't my choice to rent this, it was my boyfriend's. That being said, I watched it (most of it) and I must say that this may be the worst movie I have ever seen. This film trumps itself as being a gay satire of horror films but it is most definitely not. See, satire is supposed to be funny. Actually satire is supposed to be--as defined--irony, sarcasm, or caustic wit used to attack or expose folly, vice, or stupidity. This film contained no irony, no sarcasm, nor did it contain any wit (caustic or otherwise) but it did contain plenty of folly, vice, and oodles of stupidity. It's just stupid, stupid, stupid. Filmed with the lowest possible quality (which perhaps was done to match the quality of the writing, acting, cinematography, editing and directing) video. I didn't even think they still sold VHS camcorders, and perhaps that's not what it was filmed on, but it certainly looks like it (it could be the worst possible DV transfer ever however). The cinematography is just awful, whoever was behind the camera must have seen that there was an FX button on the side and pushed it at the most odd and random moments, incorporating such FX as negative, wide, and stretch...which would detract from the scene if there was anything worth watching in the first place (and in the case of the scene shot in negative, we see that the writer/director doesn't brush his teeth). And so we move on to the writing. The story is about a 'gay nerd' who delivers pizza's, he's one day beaten down by a group of teens for simply bumping into one of them. To get revenge he hypnotizes a counselor so that he'll hypnotize the students who are forced to see the counselor so that the 'gay nerd' (Zaffo) can teach them what it's like to be humiliated. And of course that means making them get it on in a huge simulated sex orgy at the end of the film. It sounds funny (and possibly could be if it was written by someone more talented, like a group of retarded monkeys), but its attempts at humor is painfully unfunny. And the writer (who stars as Zaffo AND serves as director) seems to really love the word 'humiliate(d)' seeing how it is said in seemingly every other line of the script. The cast is probably made up of the local high school gay pride club. None of them are believable, and I'd especially like to point out that the Bobby Trendy cameo has him at one point looking off to the side as though he was trying to find the nearest exit. And since I hate this movie more then I hate mushrooms (and I really hate mushrooms) I'm going to sum up the rest of the review by saying: It's also edited by an epileptic mole (seeing how mole's are blind) with a large amount of two second scenes that seem like they're simply trimmings from what should have been a longer scene.

This is a movie that is worse then porn, actually...if it had been a real porn it might have been funny. But it wasn't porn, it wasn't funny. It didn't have the courage to actually have sex scenes, just simulated sex scenes, and a few shots of penises. If it were a porn I could understand the crappy production value. But it wasn't. It was a 'gay satire of horror films' (as it says on the cover). And I only wish that I could personally destroy every single copy. And it was everything I could do to not rip my eyeballs from their sockets and step on them with my own feet to make the pain stop.

Don't watch this movie, and if you have to at least make a drinking game out of it, everyone drink anytime someone says the words 'humiliate', or 'humiliated' and hopefully you will pass out 20 minutes into it's near two hour running time.

I scored this movie as a 1 out of ten, because they don't let you rate a film with a ZERO!!!!

Not even worth renting
videojockey3 December 2005
This is quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen and I have seen quite a few. It was so bad that it is difficult to know where to begin. The writing was terrible containing very little plot. The acting was bad and not believable at all except maybe in the porn industry. the special effects were non-existent not even qualifying as hoaky. I didn't think it was funny at all and I am a huge fan of dark comedies. I cannot think of any other movie out there to compare it to because I haven't seen anything this poorly done. I am still surprised that this made it to DVD and someone was able to convince rental outlets to carry it. I would not even put this on public access as it would be insulting to other programs that are on there. No production value to speak of here and I looked really hard to try and find some redeeming quality. Some of the guys are cute, but that doesn't defend the rest of the movie. Please don't waste your time with this one.

OMG. I have now seen the worst movie ever
ApolloBoy10919 March 2007
Ed Wood, you were a genius compared to the clueless people who put this "film" together. Filmed I'm sure in a few hours on a Saturday afternoon.

In this case, the word film means crap on a stick.

Forget the infantile story line, the bozo holding the camera, the lack of imagination.

This "film" exists only because a few "pervs" wanted to photograph a ten minute limp-tool soft core orgy with less-than-attractive boys who have no idea they are being exploited.

If you can see this movie for free, fine -- fast forward but DO NOT pay any money, not a dime.

The acting made me throw up, just a little, in my mouth. The Pizza Shack Owner, a man in a wig attempting a comedic character without any understanding of what acting means.

The janitor, the man in the wheel chair, the skinny, skanky boys romping around senselessly behave as though they are mentally-incomplete. It's as if they thought acting meant they were suppose to act retarded.

I mean none of these people here are "real" actors. Outside of my theory I don't know why such a steaming heap of awfulness was ever filmed, or ever released.

Seriously, dudes, it's not worth it, even if the words "Skanky boys", "Softcore orgy" or "pervs" arouse you -- not even for curiosity's sake should you subject yourself to such a wreck.

This is it!
RitchCS29 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
From the tens of thousands of movies I've seen, it's sometimes difficult to pick my favorite. However, after watching 118 minutes of 'A Slice Of Terror', I will now have a definitive answer when asked what is the worst movie I've ever seen. This is it! The teens in the picture must have been doing time in some prison and got their sentences reduced by playing the nude scenes. Forget about the acting because there is no acting in the entire film. This might be a good film to show at a Christmas party with guests you wish to leave early. Webster doesn't have any word to describe how awful this movie is. (I even hate to call it a movie as I'm not sure what it was).

Don't watch with hopes of a redeeming factor....
lemayman22 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I like horror. So, in hopes that there is such a thing as "Gay" horror, I gave this title a chance. The overall story isn't bad. The protagonist, pizza delivery guy/janitor, has been humiliated and picked on, and seeks revenge. In a nutshell, that's the meat and potatoes of the story.

He goes about it by hypnotizing his counselor into hypnotizing his tormentors. Evidently he thinks that making people strip is humiliating. So that is a plot mover that repeats itself throughout. Toward the end, he "directs" his tormentors into having a group sex scene while under his hypnotic trance. The boys go through the moves of being intimate with each other, but none are too "excited", so what is being suggested could not really have occurred.

As for the filming, HORRIBLE, is one word that comes to mind. It flashes back and forth, making it a little hard to follow. It also employs the ancient horror effect of changing the polarity, making it look as though we are watching an x-ray. Also at the end, while they are "making a pizza", it was filmed in black and white in a lame attempt to add suspense, I guess....

If you want to see some young naked guys pretending to make out with each other, watch this.... if you are looking for a plot, keep looking, and Good Luck.

Sometimes there are movies that are just so bad they're funny or campy, like those of Ed Wood. This isn't one of them. It's embarrassing and painful. My comments would have stopped there except IMDb.com insists a review have a minimum of ten lines and therefore I will include the following; Don't waste your time. Don't waste your money. Don't bother trying to find anything redeeming about this movie. I bet the actors have never admitted to being in this, even when they're drunk. To fill up the remaining 5 lines I can only repeat myself.Sometimes there are movies that are just so bad they're funny or campy, like those of Ed Wood. This isn't one of them. The very worst and very unfunny
songofkalima24 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I had wanted to see this movie for years. A close friend of mine, who is a fellow gay man, recommended this movie to me, said it was some cheesy slasher with some hot gay porn thrown in. So that was what I was expecting.... errr... well that's not exactly what it turned out to be.

First of all, this movie was made in 2004, and the video and audio quality are so awful that this movie is nearly unwatchable. Wow. And nothing really makes much sense, but I can sense the plot trying to be made, that there is a crazy dude who is wanting to take revenge on some guys. So there's weird people doing stupid things for about a full hour.

After that, the crazy dude hypnotizes these twink guys into sexual activities and that was where I was expecting to see this "hot gay porn". Oh this was terrible. The crazy dude commands each guy to perform a certain act and to humiliate the other, and it just took forever. It was similar to soft-core porn, but even worse. I admit these scenes did pull a few laughs out of me. It was ridiculously stupid. All these flaccid guys in an orgy and how they are all able to have sex with each other while flaccid. It was truly pathetic.

So then they kill these girls with pizza cutters and then they kill these guys and lay them all down on a sheet in a room and sprinkle cheese on top of them to make a 'human pizza' and act like they're slicing them with pizza cutters, then one guy wakes up and screams and you got the crazy guy again who is vowing to humiliate whoever.

OK, I knew this was going to be bad when I first heard of it, and when I read the reviews, but I love some unique indie stuff like "L.A. Zombie" or "The Gay Bed & Breakfast of Terror", but no this was not even comparable. I started to say the only film bad enough to compare this to was Wally Koz's "555", but even this film makes "555" deserve an Academy Award. The fake sex was the only thing I found humorous. I will admit though, that it is a bit creepy, some of the crap that was in this movie, and the fact that anyone had anything to do with it, and that someone made it and marketed it. To do so is delusional and the subject matter of this film along with the poor attempt does make me question the director's sanity.

With a budget just under $1M, it looks like it was made with just $15 dollars. I have to say that the music during the end credits was really nice, I don't know who composed and performed that song, but it was good. Or maybe I was just so glad that this hour and 48 minutes was finally over.

This DVD, out of print, as of the time of this being written, is being sold by 2 sellers on amazon for the outrageously shocking prices of $595.95 and $804.73. WTF????

Poor video and audio qualities, but graphic mind control fantasy
Legion14 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
The filming was mostly done with hand-held video cameras which leads to an expectedly low quality of cinematography, but if you are into mind control fantasies this is the film for you. The basic plot is that a pizza delivery boy/janitor is picked on by some kids at school customers, and somehow is able to mind control them. From there it breaks down into some pretty intense mind control that gets into some graphic simulated gay sex with frontal nudity.

The audio quality of the film varies throughout with the music sometimes overpowering the dialogue, and at other times the dialogue being basically inaudible without turning up the volume.

If you aren't into gay mind control fantasies, you won't enjoy this movie or find it interesting at all. The closest other films to this would be The Brotherhood series directed by David DeCoteau.

I can't believe someone got paid to make this!
badttboy28 July 2011
I can't believe that someone got paid to make this and what is even worse is that they got paid to make another one that is very similar. This is a perfect example of how very bad scripts, writing, directing etc. is getting into production, while so many very good & talented work out there is being turned down. I really will like to understand the politics behind all of these obviously bad decisions. My only logic is that it must be that they make such films that are unacceptable for viewing, in sure hopes that they will come and go without any notice, only to serve as a tax write off for the rich. At least they can give the money to young and talented producers, writers, directors, etc. to practice with low budget productions!
