Salminen and Laaksonen in the world of poetry
Petey-1013 October 2010
Kukunor and Kalahari are two trolls who come to play in the professor's summerhouse.Kukunor (1973) is some great theater made for TV under Jukka Sipilä's direction. It is originally poetry written by Lauri Viita. It was meant for children, but it's hard to get even for grown-ups.But there's some great use of words there, masterful rhyming. And the people using those words, Esko Salminen and Liisa-Maija Laaksonen, are just perfect.Salminen, who turned 70 yesterday, told in an interview after the movie was shown, how hard this was for an actor. There's a lot to remember in all this. But he handles his job very well with Laaksonen. There are other people as well.Vesa Mäkelä is seen there as Maisteri/Metsästäjä.Toivo Mäkelä is Dosentti/Fossiili.Pehr-Olof Sirén is Kertoja/Professori/Vuoriukko.Ihmissyöjä is played by Pertti Kelkka. This experimental fairytale is beautiful to watch and listen.
