Anecdotes:
At the very first screening of "Hostel" at the 2005 Toronto Film Festival, two separate ambulances were called from people having such extreme reactions to the film. One man left the theater during Josh's torture, fainted, and tumbled down the escalator, and during Paxton's torture a woman had festival volunteers call an ambulance, claiming the film was giving her a heart attack. Both patrons were okay, and local media thought it was a publicity stunt by director Eli Roth. Ironically, Roth knew nothing of the incident, as he was in the theater watching the film, and only found out after when he was told by the festival staff of the chaos that transpired. suiteGoofs:
Continuity: When the one street kid throws a stone onto the man's head from the window you can see blood on his head before the stone hits him. suiteSoundtrack:

I just sat through the worst film I've ever seen. Hostel. If this movie made #1 in the USA, I can dig the idea of Guantanemo Bay now, Yanks lurve torture and this movie was pure bloody torture too watch. Seemed to me to be just thrown together after a long night on the booze! Hey! the world hates us just now, let's make a movie that shows how were civilised and the rest of the world are sick! Then they'll love me... But apart from that, as a movie, it just sucked.
Badly written by someone whom probably has never been to Eastern Europe and reckons they go in for this treatment of US tourists on regular basis, nice thought, but not true.
Although....
PS - I just found out this guy made Cabin Fever! Now it all makes sense!
