Horton Hears a Who! (2008)

In the Broadway musical Seussical, the Grinch's Whos and Horton's are one and the same, the Grinch being microscopic and living on the dust speck as well. However, in Ron Howard's Live action movie, the Grinch's Whos live on a snowflake.

Horton didn't hear a "Help", he heard a "Yelp". He probably heard the Mayor call out for Miss Yelp (his secretary).

I think it may be a "Help", since the mayor seems to be injury prone, as suggested in the later scene showing him crying for help after he accidentally had his forehead stapled.

He is referred to by his wife, Sally (Amy Poehler), as Ned, and the narrator calls him McDodd so it's safe to assume his name is Ned McDodd.

However, Amy Poehler is credited as Sally O'Malley, instead of Sally McDodd. Apparently the Whos are in a feminist society where the last name is not taken on by the spouse.
