• A gray and blue Warner Bros. logo is used in the film's opening, instead of the usual golden one.
• Christian Bale is credited with playing "Bruce Wayne" but not "Batman" in the final credits.
• Like the opening of Batman Begins (2005) (with the bats scattering and forming the new Batman logo and no title), The Dark Knight begins with a shot of large blue flames that dissipate in the center to form the new Batman logo.
• The closing credits have the line "In memory of our friends Heath Ledger & Conway Wickliffe".
• As with Batman Begins (2005), there are no opening titles. The title "The Dark Knight" is not even shown until the beginning of the end credits.
