"Night of the Sassy" a sexy, comedic romp!
TuckerLucas26 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
"Night of the Sassy", another offbeat comedic short from director Greg Carlson, hits the sweet spot as it mixes a digestible blend of Bigfoot enthusiasm with modern sexuality.

Carlson's film follows the story of Sally, a buxom young brunette who harbors a preternatural fetish for the infamous mythological Sasquatch. Her pursuit of the hairy biped is met with indifference by her slacker boyfriend, and the subject often causes a lovers tiff. It isn't until a late night sexual encounter with a mysterious hirsute beau that Sally solidifies her resolve and plans a trip to Alaska to further her Sasquatch studies.

The film has Carlson's signature all over it with a charismatic, albeit affected female as the lead. Sally Jacobson bounces off the screen with her drop dead gorgeous looks and likable personality, supplanting the film with a hilarious contrast to it's bizarre subject matter. Rob Garland turns in a hilarious performance as the laggard boyfriend, and a winking cameo of Shannon Jacobson as Madchen rounds out Carlson's latest achievement in his rising directorial career.

"Night of the Sassy" is for mature viewers.

Greg Carlson's best work yet
TobyJones9 August 2005
Greg Carlson, simply one of the greatest people on earth, really hits it out of the park with 'Night of the Sassy'. The shots are perfect and the acting is top-notch, but the real star here (in my opinion) is the writing. The humor in 'Sassy' is wonderfully quirky and subtle, and I can guarantee that after seeing this film you will never think of "Amazing Fantasy" in the same way.

Another thing that makes "Night of the Sassy" so special is the level of mystery involved. The first time you see it, there will be any number of questions going through your head.. Was there really a Sasquatch board game? Who is really playing the Yeti?, etc. This only adds to the effect of the film, as gleefully strange as it is hilarious. Mr. Carlson is truly a talented writer and director, and "Night of the Sassy" is the most clear indication of this yet.

Sassy Delivers the Goods . . . In More Than One Way
old film lover7 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
A masterpiece of sasquatch cinema, "Night of the Sassy" is a must-see for all wishing to view a slightly different take on everyone's favorite creatures of the night.

The plot involves a young couple who go on a normal camping trip--normal, that is, until a local bigfoot decides to stop by for a little midnight romance. What follows is one of the strangest "erotic" montages ever seen in a horror/comedy short - one that will probably haunt my dreams forever.

Those too busy bursting their gut over what is happening on the screen may unfortunately miss the touching undertones of the lonely life of the sasquatch character. Sassy touches and loves the film's heroine in a gentle, almost caring way. He leaves quickly soon after, perhaps fearing what she would think of being loved by such a monster. Was it only a simple fling, or was it possibly a hint of something more? Will the sassy ever find true love? With these questions subliminally being asked of the viewer, it is easy to see how "Night of the Sassy" may be the most moving human-monster love story since Jean Cocteau's "Beauty and the Beast." Yet another great work from a great guy, Greg Carlson, "Night of the Sassy" is most definitely worth a look.
