Patrick Dempsey is in talks with Spyglass to star in “Thanksgiving,” multiple media outlets have reported.
Yes, that’s Eli Roth’s “Thanksgiving,” a violent slasher film based on the fake trailer from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s double feature “Grindhouse” from 16 years ago.
Chatter has existed about turning the jokey trailer into an actual movie, with Roth having written a screenplay over a dozen years ago. Fantasy became fact when Spyglass stepped in late last year to finance the picture, with shooting to begin in Toronto next month.
While plot details are mostly concealed, it is believed that Dempsey would play a small-town sheriff in Massachusetts who must fend off a holiday-specific murder spree.

Hot off the theatrical release of Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” this week’s “Saturday Night Live” saw Zoë Kravitz join this season’s impressively strong “first timers club.”
Host: Zoë Kravitz
Naturally, with the latest Catwoman in the building, the opening monologue devolved into an assortment of Catwomen (and ladies… and Williams) of years past. As Kravitz attempted to get through her monologue, Kate McKinnon interrupted her to set up the bit, introducing “the Cat Signal.” (It’s like the Bat Signal… but with a cat.) And then came Ego Nwodim, explaining the subtle difference between “camp” and “super gay.”
Kravitz’s monologue suggested that she would probably lay back during the episode, playing the straight woman to the more eccentric characters throughout. However, while her effortlessly cool persona was able to shine through within the sketches — as hard as she ultimately went for it in the “Don’t Stop Believin’ (Marching Band)” sketch,...

The series centers on a one-hit-wonder girl group from the ’90s who reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. Per Peacock’s description of the series, “They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents, and shoulder pain, but can’t they also be Girls5eva?”
The “Love Song” singer will play the lead role of Dawn, described as a former member of the short-lived 90s girl group Girls5eva, who is now a bit restless in life managing her family’s small Italian restaurant in Queens. Awkward! First Daughter Ivanka Trump took to Twitter on Monday, Oct. 8 to congratulate former First Daughter Barbara Pierce Bush and her new husband, screenwriter Craig Coyne, on their surprise wedding ceremony that took place over the weekend. However, the sweet gesture ended up getting Ivanka a lot more hate than she expected! "Congratulations, Barbara and Craig," she tweeted, along with a photo of their beautiful ceremony taken by talented photographer Paul Morse. "Wishing you both a lifetime of love and laughter!" It didn't take long for Twitter users to begin criticizing her though because she was not invited to the ceremony and, to be honest, doesn't even seem to be friendly with Barbara or her family. The infamously private Bush daughter described her 20-guest wedding to People as “a very short, sweet ceremony." It was intimate, including only her closest family, like dad George W. Bush, who walked her down the aisle,...

Sorry, Kate Middleton! Meghan Markle is allegedly not having a Maid of Honor at her upcoming wedding on Saturday, May 19 despite rumors it was supposed to be her soon-to-be sister-in-law. She has a fair reason why, though. "She has a very close-knit circle of friends and she didn’t want to choose one over another," a palace spokesman told People on Friday, May 4. "All have been actively involved in helping her prepare for the day and will be there in the days beforehand. She’s very happy to have their support." Royal fans are speculating that Meghan will have bridesmaids, however, and some names that come to mind are her Bff Jessica Mulroney, who allegedly helped her with her wedding dress design and her good friend Lindsay Roth, whom Meghan was the Maid of Honor for. Her other pal Priyanka Chopra, who we assumed would be in the wedding, admitted...

We've come a long way since the days when Snooki couldn't find the beach! Now that the Jersey Shore crew is reuniting on April 5 for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, fans of the debauchery-driven reality series are reminded just how much has changed for Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and the rest of her cast-mates. For starters, Nicole, 30, is now married to Jionni Lavalle, 31 — whom she infamously met on the show — and together they have two kids, Lorenzo and Giovanna. But despite the fairytale ending, many fans will never forget that Nicole and Jionni haven't been without their ups and downs — especially during their marriage. Even recently, there's been speculation that the couple is experiencing trouble in paradise because he won't be appearing alongside his wife on the MTV spin-off show. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) It's an accusation that Jionni quickly put to bed, telling fans, "Nicole and I are doing great and...

You'd think that with their career kicking off at just nine months old, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's parents had high hopes for their talented little tykes. But in their early years, nobody was more mystified by their success than father David "Dave" Olsen. "They utilize their personalities pretty well," he told Washington Post back in 1991. "They're just kind of funny. They were almost like chimpanzees when they were little. You just dress them up and they're fun. I guess they're just photogenic." "Photogenic" seems like an underwhelming label for one's children, yet it's also not an inaccurate observation. Nobody could deny that the cameras loved the Olsen twins. And though Papa Dave's initial observations have more shock-factor in the comparisons — "chimpanzees" is definitely jarring —there's something ironic about his initial doubts. For years, the sisters denied being ruled by stage parents. But it is interesting that Dave took the reigns...
