But The Crazy Lady In Rags Said I'd Marry The Cute Guy!
boblipton12 February 2020
A handsome young page and the beautiful daughter of a wealthy lord are in love, and a local fortune-teller uses cards to tell them they will be wed. No sooner is she rewarded with a bag of money and shuffled off, stage left, then the girl's father comes in and tells her she's supposed to marry some noble mope.

Oh no! How can it be! It's like they're in some movie with people who overact by waving their arms about, but which has a decent budget for costumes and set dressing! Such things don't happen, do they?

Well, they don't happen any more, although you can never tell what the next off-off-Broadway show or student production of Shakespeare will bring. Some I've seen are pretty raw. However, this is a silent movie more than a century old, and pretty near the end of the ,ediocre Delsarte acting, although a few of the more skilled performers in that antiquated style would still turn up on the movie screen.
