By itself, it kind of works, although it feels like it should be a little longer and develop a little bit better. The thing is, it really owes an awful lot to Peckinpah's movie, except it's two couples instead of just one and they protect an abandoned girl instead of the village idiot.
Photography, wardrobe, the people from the village, Coinsidine's arc is very much like Hoffman's, etc...
Oldman is by far the best thing about it. It's been a while since he's been this good.
In the end, the movie is alright, but it's ripping off a masterpiece.
