A powerful story
Kontum Diary is a powerful documentary detailing one man's search for forgiveness - forgiving himself, forgiving others and accepting forgiveness from others. Paul Reed has taken a journey to understand himself and his culture and how he was shaped by it to see his enemy as less than human. His experiences during the War in Vietnam and later back in the US are presented in the documentary in ways that we can all understand and all related to. To me, his experiences of reconciliation with his former enemy are particularly interesting, and give an insight into how other cultures view forgiveness and the past. I recommend this documentary to anyone.
