The first working title for the film was "My Needle Has Got Rusty", which is a Robert Johnson quote, but which made people think the film was about drug use. The second was "Waiting For Da Ho", a play on Samuel Beckett's "Waiting For Godot". This second title is mentioned in the end credits.
