Jay Novello hires Roger Smith to find his secretary who flew the coop with half
a million dollars in negotiable bonds. Novello also has romantic intentions as
well regarding the secretary Karen Steele.
In fact Steele seems to bring out the worst in the male species. She's got a brother whom she says did the stealing and a pesky neighbor in Rhodes Reason who doggedly follows Jeff Spencer to Acapulco where the trail ends. Reason is determined to be Sir Lancelot to the woman who lives in the next apartment.
Roger Smith is a bit more cynical than all that and Novello turns out to be not the meek accountant we think he is.
