Two Drunks, A Monk And A Whole Bunch Of Bunk
chashans15 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Malloy and Reed deal with a couple of drunks in this episode. One is a "regular customer" of the tank at the Station House. The other is a woman very much under the influence who has allowed her drinking to lead her to major trouble.

Actor J. Pat O'Malley plays the kindly drunk. At least this drunk isn't so bad off that he's seeing Pink Elephants. The actor will return in a later season of Adam-12, again playing a drunk. That time he in fact will be so bad off that he does see a Pink Elephant. Literally.

The drunk woman M & R encounter is much worse. So much so that she's arrested on several charges. One of which is for taking a ride on Officer Malloy. The partners get her and her unfortunate husband to jail, but this isn't the last they or we will see of them. With the second encounter, our heroes will end up in a very deadly situation.

In another segment, viewers are taught what not to do when trying to get help from police. Two guys who discovered a would-be-suicide at a park, have put her in their car and are racing her to a hospital. They see Adam-12 out on patrol and try to get help. They zoom past the squad and wave to M & R, apparently expecting the Officers in the squad to use ESP to read their minds. Please note: Police Officers are rarely able to read the minds of others.

This storyline with the attempted suicide actually leads to possible big trouble for Malloy and Reed. While that's bad enough, even worse, M & R later end up attempting to arrest a Monk who doesn't like to open doors. When he finally does, it's via buckshot from a shot gun.

So it's numerous different events which have very different and very dangerous impact on our two most favorite TV Police Officers. The acting from the guest cast isn't exactly stellar, but is at least passable. Martin Milner and Kent McCord are, as is usual, terrific.

Assault With The Intent To Commit Murder
StrictlyConfidential7 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
(*Louie quote*) - "Say, haven't we met before?"

Officers Reed and Malloy break up a serious fight (punching, kicking, scratching) in a bar between a husband and his wife.

In the meantime, a man named Monk, toting a shotgun, attempts to kill Mae Pilaf because she is a two-timer.

And on the other side of town - The driver of a speeding vehicle waves down Adam-12 in hopes that they can help him with the woman bleeding profusely in the back seat of his car.
