The training scenario in the beginning is nearly identical to the events of what became known as the "Newhall Incident," taking place on April 5, 1970 in present-day Valencia, California. This incident cost the lives of four California Highway Patrol officers due to gunfire from two criminals, and resulted in significant changes in tactics when approaching occupied vehicles during a traffic stop. Not only by the CHP, but also for police departments around the country.
The third of a four episode story arc concerning high end thief Reno West (Jed Allan), coined "take a little, leave a little" for his M.O. of only stealing a few small, high end items at a time so that the victims won't even know they've been robbed usually until weeks after the fact. However, Allen, as West, only appears in the first and last of the four.
