Jerry (Jerry Van Dyke) tells Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier) that he is from Morgantown, WV, the same city that recently departed Don Knotts (Barney Fife) was born and raised in.
Last episode shown in black and white.
Hope Summers' character is listed as 'Miss Bedloe,' although Andy acknowledges her with 'Ms Edwards' when she enters the courthouse. Throughout the series, this character's name changed several times, but she was consistently a widow, and always called 'Mrs.' Her first name was originally Bertha, then later became Clara. In this episode--which is the last of the black-and-whites, as well as the final episode of season five--the show seems to be toying with us. In addition to the heretofore-'Clara Edwards' being listed as 'Miss Bedloe,' toward the end Aunt Bee tells Andy that her purse was stolen, and lists its contents: "...I had $16 in it, and my leather wallet, oh, and the gold ring Bertha gave me..." Finally, Mary Lansing, listed as 'Miss Roundtree,' appeared in numerous other episodes, none of which had her named 'Roundtree.'
Jerry says he wanted $30, but the manager didn't want to give him anything. $30 in 1965 would be the equivalent to $296 in 2024, adjusted for inflation.
While Flossie (the Sultan's Favorite) is seen dancing, Jerry isn't in sync with the music that is being played, particularly the cymbals.
