I just started a new series. Crime, noir atmosphere for this TV show made in the early sixties, and starring the young Bill Smith, long before he became Falconetti character in RICH MAN POOR MAN series. This story is about one of my favourite schemes: robberies, heists. A bunch of highly professional hoodlums pull quarter of a million dollars job. In their way to open the vault, I thought of one scene of Michael Mann's THE THIEF. High scale burglary, with all the technology it needs, using an appropriate giant drill machine to crack the large vault armored door. They even have a police scanner, in order to get the cops radio wave lengths. Again, as it was in THE THIEF.
I was amazed by the way the gangsters prepare their job, like at school, with the students listening to their teacher. Jazzy theme, very in the mood of this promising TV show.
